  • Won't anyone think about the polo?

  • Wirst shots take some actual skill though.
Shuffling a ball or ball jointing and riding between two cones does not.

  • Mark, when everybody is piss off at how this is going, everybody cant be wrong

  • i only see four or five pissed of people.

  • serious people, i should say.

  • Matt, reread the thread and recount, please

  • list.

  • you do it

  • done.

  • cool. you win

  • Ffs, I'm done with this.

Rik, I've had three people contact me to complain. You're one of them. One was about the mallets which could be used, and one was about playing with someone they had played with in other tournaments.

I have also had a few messages from people exclaiming that people on this thread are acting like dicks and babies. And the people they were referring to were not Jon, Max, Matt, or myself.

  • Sorry, I read your chats yesterday evening + saying everyone as pissed off as complaints.

Then I guess two people have complained (to me).

  • But seriously:

end the thread, end the tourney, this is too much for London to handle.

Like Rik said, "everyone" can't be wrong.

  • you ask me, remeber, I dint went to you.
I told you what I see, and what people is telling me.
and if not, left this run and we will see the day of teh tourney

  • Mark, give people what they want.
Jono, just organize a tourney with +50 team with not probelm,
in a week you of organising yours, you are already burn out, why?

  • Rik, it was never supposed to be on the scale of the London Open. I think that was made clear in the rule set and title. Not every tournament is the same. It was supposed to be a fun tournament to try some stuff out, hang out for the weekend, drink some beers.

I'm not burnt out, I'm just going to use my energy on something productive. Like my dissertation. And not fighting with people who are supposed to be mates, but have tantrums when things aren't how they like them. I'm not a baby-sitter and to be honest, at this point would rather just let people have their way.

    Cheers!

  • jesus.
rik, seriously, the few voices of complaint (i'm sorry if thats you or you or you) are still a few, a minority, surely? so surely the majority are cool with it all?
and was jono's tourney in the same vein as all others in terms of rules and regs? this one, being different has rocked a few boats. a few boats only. that's how it seems to me.

    polo love.

  • I really don't see the problem.

Yes, it's different, but how are you truly going to know the current rules are the best without trying out other rules in a competitive environment.

It's only one day, if it's shit it never needs to be tried again.

I don't like the no cheater mallets rule, as they are they only ones I have, but I don't have some birthright to play in this tournament, so if I want to play I will respect the rules and build myself or borrow a non cheater mallet for it.

And regarding people wanting to play together with people they've played before, is it really such a big deal to play with other people for just one day. Sure it doesn't really affect me, as I've never played in a league or non-throw-in tournament, but considering you can play with these people on the other 364 days of the year, it doesn't seem a massive problem to not play with them for this tournament. If you don't like the rules, don't play...

  • ultimetly mrak people want to play polo, rik didnt pay for a plane ticket to play shuffle board on bikes. a mixer = fun. making up rules that go against the idea of polo = not fun.
dictating to people that they can / can't play with people = not fun.
how is sararh, dt, rupert an established team, how is brendan, marc, rik established?

    brendan
    baby committee.
    established today.

  • johnH your talking out of your arse. marc live in paris rik in berlin, so 365 days is impossible. matt, not sure how you've counted your babies, but i sat with 5 people last night who thought this is stupid. i would like to say that eggpie wrote a great first op and its been twisted into something else, whether in confusion, missing humour or on purpose.

  • There will always be conflicts of opinion in everything we do. I would place a bet that everyone will have a fantastic time on the day regardless.
    It's all gravy.
