The mobile layout was axed.

It was too buggy around the edges, not the annoyances but a couple of things which are better defined as flaws.
Basically my attempt to make a mobile skin was flawed, I shouldn't have done it. What I should've done is to make the full site a lot simpler so that it works on most mobiles.
So I've disabled the mobile to prevent the flaws causing problems, and once I'm finished with writing up my MSc (this week hopefully) I'm going to be putting all my effort into re-designing the site before the Cycle Show. So basically it should all be sorted by the end of the month.

I'm loving last fm and mspot apps.
I couldn't really do this on my iPhone as the 3G connection was not fast enough not to have buffering issues.
Desire with 3.5G - bingo!
AMAZING

I'm thinking of trying to get my Mum online (she's 78 and reluctant to go the whole PC route, but.... rather liked my Desire touch screen) so....... rather than get an Apple (as I'm PC/Android now.....) any suggestions for an Android based Tablet..... I see Archos 101 gets a mention above. She'd be using it for internet surfing, food recipes, news, and maybe even a bit of email...... I've tried Google search but it's been a bit rubbish for ideas.......... I'd really like her to be mobile with it, but suspect would spend most of her time wandering round her flat with it!

I don't think, that apart from the Samsung Tab, that there will be many on sale in the UK, till late this year, or early next year.
I'm keeping an eye out for them also. -

Market is a bit confusing. Some things I come across on the net, I can't find on the Market. Even if I use the scanner, it's not there.
Do they just get taken down or is there something else I need to use?
HTC WildFire.

I agree with you there, with more and more and more and more ap's coming to the market there needs to be an easier way to find your way around it all.

Also, it's my first cool phone. Was using an old Samsung J600 before. (yeh)
Snagged £20/mo 600min, unlimited Text, unlimited Internet + free HTC WildFire from T-Mobile.
Guy offered me insurance, and I said I couldn't afford it. So he kindly enough gave me 3 months insurace for free, plus make my phone bill only £13/mo. How awesome is that!?Coming from a £15/mo sim only for a measly 200mins and 400texts on O2, it's amazing.
I called up O2 to see if they could beat this deal, but couldn't get anywhere near.
I think 3 is doing a similar deal, but the text/net is limited.

If its apps you're talking about, not all are on the market, and if you want them,
you'd have to go to the maker's website (in some cases) to get it from them directly.3 months insurance for free? Does that mean you start paying the insurance from the 4th month, till end of contract?

The wildfire is one of the first android phones to have a smaller screen than the G1, which means that apps need to be specifically adapted to work for it.
In the same way as things like swype had to be hacked to work on the G1 etc, and a lot of the hi-res live-wallpapers wont work on the older phones.

http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.rovio.angrybirds_lite?install
But for this as an example, it has the install link or barcode image to install.
Why would they supply that if it's not available on Market? If its apps you're talking about, not all are on the market, and if you want them,

Plus tmobile unlimited internet means unlimited which is great!
Aren't aps on smaller screens just compressed down to fit? Much like bigger screens are stretched I imagine.

Why would they supply that if it's not available on Market?I think for app brain you need to download the app brain app (if that makes sense) which will then install the other aps on your phone.

There are several sources to get Android apps from, and not just Android Market and Appbrain.
Its okay if buying from a reputable maker, but NOT from an unknown one, as it could be malware.

Ah I see. Well I just installed Appbrain, synced up the accounts and Angry Birds was added to the list. Now I click install and it says "The requested item could not be found".
What gives?
Yeah till the end of the contract from the 4th month, and when it comes to the end of the 3rd month I can either keep the insurance or decide not to.

I have to agree angry birds is great, really good fun.
When viewing the forum on my legend it is now displayed in the non mobile layout even though I have mobile layout enabled in user cp, anyone know why or how to fix?
