If Max and I are going either of our bikes could be used for polo. Both single speed. Mine is a stripped and now rusting Pompino with a sweet rainbow seat post (which fades into a matching purple Brooks Colt). That makes it awesome.
Max's is a frame he built himself while in Canada (well, visiting Porltand), which also makes it awesome.
In fact, are on-one going to be there? I'd love them to see what people are doing to Pompinos. They have a weird relationship with polo (encouraging, followed by dismissive and not very friendly, followed by trying to buy into the scene by releasing an OTP polo bike, which sucked). Nonetheless, the Pomp is the number one polo bike in the London scene (and it's moving beyond). I'd like to talk to them one-on-one (see what I did there?) at some point.
the day I'm there I can bring my DAMP Cycles polo bike, latest and greatest polo specific frame (kind of).

Actually, those look good.
vb, last i heard I thought Jonny's Copacetic had bit the dust? Remember him posting up about it? Well I think I did, might be best to ping him a pm.
I think murtles as the requisite one man, one bike, commuter would be a good choice. Also shows the forum's community spirit as we bought it for him and all.
Another point would it be a thought to have a mini bike pile in the stand of the members who are down to man the stall, might give you more bike bang for your buck. I'm assuming everyone will be riding down.All his bikes are copacetic. His bikes experience re-incarnation.
Would there be any harm in having a different bike each day?
More people would get to show their bikes, anyone there for more than a day gets a different bike to look at, nobody has to be bikeless for four days.
As long as the bikes meet the criteria this might be easier to organise?
Actually, I like this idea a lot. It also means I don't have to put extra security on overnight. But, the bikes would absolutely have to be guaranteed to be there on for 10am each day and would have to stay there until closing at 6pm each day.
We need 1 polo, and 1 track/commuter.
Time for a rota?
1+ the rattlecanned plack 'dale is a good choice.
what about Tynan's Argon 18?;

Oh yes, and JD's beautiful Mercian.
1+ on Mumble's geekhouse too.
Like Tynan lets that leave his house, I'm not sure it's ever felt tarmac. Anyhow, how come he's now got a tri-spoke, I thought he was all over that mono-spoke thing ;)
How many are you going to get? I may be interested in buying one off of you when done (if you're interested in getting rid of them, and, once seeing them, they'll do what I want in my tiny flat).
Just the one stand, I think I can only fit 2 bikes on the stand, it's really not that large and whilst I'd hoped for three bikes I'm just not sure I have the space.

Trade day is on until 7pm on the Thursday. I guess you know and are packing up early though...
Right you are, I read it wrong on the form.

DK, do you want to try and big up the stand in cycle media before the show? Not because people will come to the show because of it, but if they're going to come anyway it might help encourage them to seek it out.
Because it will be a month away on Tuesday and we'd need a press release agreed ASAP due to print deadlines and stuff...
-
• #461
Yes :)
Did you notice I put you in charge of marketing and PR? Tell me what you need :)
Are you about on the Thursday? And do you have ideas about what a fact sheet or something would look like?
Let's do a call... my number is in the phone number thread.

I've got one of these:
Let me know if it's any good. I can pack it down and bring it/send it over. Needs a wall to lean on, though.

A stand, or every single bikes locked up on just one of those;
and then fling onto a tree.

sorry, a tad off topic, but still related.
corny said that lfgss bough murts his bike, whats the story behind this? -
• #465
there's a lovely heart warming thread somewhere here, but long story short.
murtle was getting married, coveted dogsballs geekhouse, which was for sale, forum clubbed together to buy said geekhouse, without murtle's knowledge and delivered to him said frame before the wedding.
tears shed by all...
the forum overcomes all.. -

how nice :)

And everyone else who has been married since has been disappointed.

One of the best examples of what amazing things the forum can do at times (along with everything that was done for Fiddy and Aram and Jennes wedding present).

• #469
horatio, if bodkins made more of an effort to come to drinks, they might get the same treatment...
;-P -
• #470
What does bodkins mean? I'm forun.
-
• #471
bodkins = people.
and I'm sure when you and adrienne decide to tie the knot, the polo massive and the rest of the forum family will make the effort to get you what you desire, but seeing as you already own a tandem, what more could you need.. -
• #472
ha! cheers. I finally have a reason to pop the question.

Not sure ill be able to make it there, one suggestion that could be pretty cool would be to try and get as many of the members of LFGSS to take a photo of their sweet ride, then display them either on the photo wall, or maybe even in a catalogue of its own. Just to show the country how this scene is getting even bigger and better!?
Apologies if this has already been suggested.
