Vintage 3 speed bikes .... not sure if this of any interest to folks out there, but i fancy one of these .. anyone tempted to team up and make a bid ... can't see them being that cheap though ..
Stuck a silly bid in for these - my mother in law lives in Halifax which makes the collection a lot easier.
Nige - let me know what the crack is, have a home for one of them at least... so can sort you out if it comes in. Auction ends at a daft time, plus collection only - might get lucky.

@raysmuckles
sweet ... are you the sole bidder there then ? ...
I was worried that the round trip to Halifax would prolly cost more than the bikes ... and was wondrin what to do with the other one if i did get it ... so if you wanna 50-50 split i'm in -

how much??
£10 tops but if you were to buy your own material (about£3 at most i expect) she'd do it for alot less, maybe £5
-
• #363
sweet, when can i get one??
-
• #364
Im seeing my girlfriend this weekend so Ill get her on the case then and I should be able to get it to you in 2weeks time.
What colour would you like on the outer? What material would you like on the lining? -
• #365
could i just have black for the outer, with leopard skin material for the lining?
stoked on these bags like -
• #366
Would you be able to buy the leopard print material tristan? Its just that she would have to buy a metre of it and shes not going to use it again, could you use it for straps detail? Blacks fine for the outer by the way, alternatively for the lining you could have a hunt round some charity shops and pick up a 'wild' pillowcase for the lining.

wheels wanted ... looking for a back wheel, possibly front as well if their a matching pair ... not too worried if its single, fixed or geared ... 700c, 120mm rear hub, 100mm front ... cheap would be good ...
-
• #372
Hi Nigel,
I've got a pair of 700c hybrid wheels if that's any good. They're alloy rims, slightly wider than racer wheels, the rear is shimano freehub, but the freehub body is missing, and both wheels are missing their spindles and bearings. Overall a nice set of wheels with just a small amount of work/expense to complete. Free to a good home. -
• #373
nice one john, that's all sounding good ... if the freehub is missing, does that mean its ripe for a single speed cassette or track cog ?
-
• #374
Yes Nige, the freehub body is missing (black part in pic:)
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/images/freewheel-vs-k7.jpg
so it'll need a freehub, singlespeed cog in size of your choice, some spacers and a locknut. Then you'll have a singlespeed freewheel bike. There's no threaded part to spin on a track cog. Oh, and you'll need a spindle and some bearings! -

sounds like it could be worth trying ... chat about it at polo tomorrow
... you wouldn't happen to have a cassette removal tool for the Maillard 5 speed that's fitted to on my 70's raleigh ... cos the other option is to run the existing wheel as fixed, that way at least i can slow down !
There the chocolate covered ones :)
