Absolutely worth reporting to Addison Lee and to the police (link earlier in the thread). Please have a quick search for Addison Lee on the forum - something similar happened to another member recently and by tweeting the incident got some response. Tweet plus link to video might be worth your while.

^complain and good luck. I wish I'd saved the footage of the Addison Lee twat who did very similar to me on Monday. After trying to point out to the smug little fucker how dangerous what he did was I just gave up hoping he might think again next time he drives liek a complete fucking cnut... some chance of that mind.
(Sorry but his inability to see his error or even acknowledge his dangerous driving is still maiing me angry = so much so I didn't bother complaining more is the pity).

I think this is the one you mean - http://www.lfgss.com/thread46872.html
I don't know about the police, but I think Addison Lee need to know for starters.
Funny how it's the so called professional drivers who are so often the worst... -

Olaf, I'll make this complaint! Are you still at eland? I've moved jobs meself...
-
• #384
Seriously - report it to the police. Absolutely worthwhile. They may not do much but even if they guy gets a warning letter then it stays on his record and (I think) with the PCO. That influences later investigations of the driver on future complaints.
For the record you should be able to cite sections 167 and 212 of the Highway code...
EDIT: 182 was the other one I was looking for

Is that a White board in your flat C?!
Yes, MOC uses it for plotting world domination..
along with reminders like 'clean the bathroom' and 'empty bins'

LM53 HXU, Toyota Hilux Ex 4wd (Light 4 x 4 Utility), crazy bastard tried to knock me and a bunch of pedestrians at the pelican near the playground on Guilford Street at 2.43 PM.
Crazy bastard.

Really bad place to try and knock people over too, I assumed you got video evidence seeing what topic you've post this under?
-
• #389
Damn - report that, nickvonfiction!
That's happened quite a few times to me, 95% of the time it's a fucking minicab. Black cabs, buses, 4x4's, I have zero problem with, it's always a minicab. I swear to god one day i'm going to end up doing something I regret..

Worse one to me was a german volvo 4x4, driving with no real care toward peds/cyclists/etc. apart from other motorised vehicles, almost knocked down 9 cyclists, 3 peds and one pushing a pram between the Brunswick Centre to Guildford/Gray's Inn.
tried to look in the tinted windows, elderly couple, 60's years old looking like they're draped with the whole of buckingham palace.
reported it to roadsafe, but being German, doubt anything will happen, least I did report it.

Aye still here... until we all get sacked. Thought I hadn't seen your bike. Good luck with the new job and the complaint!

Yeah I was just about to stick it up, but my mate (a nice lawyer) said not to circulate anything just yet as it was a company vehicle, (slander suits etc) so hold on for a while folks. Just thought I'd stick up the number plate incase it happens to anyone else.

So should I take my vid down then and just send in a copy?

^ @nickvonfiction Just got to do what you're comfortable with. If posting the video on here is all I was going to do, then I might keep some of my anonymity. But if I take it further, I am going to end up maybe face to face with this guy where the whole countering thing starts etc. If I post anything it can be traced back to me via the net etc. Tick follows tock and all that ;)

Caught some white van driver weaving and being a bit of a prick whilst texting on his phone on the commute this morning. Called the company and left a message, called back and apologised profusely & thanked me for letting them know. Both owners are cyclists apparently. Won't mention the company to avoid showing up in Google but pleasantly surprised!

How does "Please report dangerous drivers to the police" translate into "please post video evidence of rubbish driving because ed said so" ?

Got to say I'm really happy with my camera today, before ogot it I was having fantasies about reporting every minor infringment I saw... But that takes more effort than it's worth. Today on a fast corner a driver got uncomfortably close whilst staring at me and smiling, I pointed to the camera said 'camera' and he instantly backed off (and stopped smiling)... Makes a great deterant... I see why veevee said earlier it makes you calmer... No more calling drivers cunts for me, just a smile and a point to the camera...

Certainly makes em realise they may have to answer for any dickheadedness and can't just whizz off anonymously to be dangerous somewhere else. I didnt get one for this reason, but it's certainly a major benefit. I think I ride better too as a result.

I got a reasonable answer back from Addison Lee re my complaint re the video on the previous page of this thread- "In line with our internal disciplinary procedure, the driver has subsequently been interviewed by our Driver Liaison team and the footage has been watched.......Details of this incident and the disciplinary have been added to the drivers file and he will closely monitored for several months. "

Note in the example mentioned above, the camera I pointed to wasn't actually filming! The battery dies between the 50 and 55min mark and the above happened around 53 mins into my commute... Head camera had died, but back camera caught him at the next lights with his head in his hands! He might have actually been crying!
I got cut up by an Addison Lee cab on the way home tonight...
Addison Lee considerate driving on Vimeo
...am I being a wuss or is this worth complaining about? It was a bullshit move, but is it dramatic enough that anything will happen as a result? I don't know if folks have had much joy with Addison Lee drivers getting any kind of come back from their crappy driving.
The clip starts at the lights leading from Parliament Square toward Westminster Bridge. I'm in the middle lane as I am going to take the bridge rather than turn left onto Victoria Embankment, so correct road positioning imo, and I don't think I'm holding anyone up so much that this move is in any way justified. The Addison Lee Cab is either in the same lane as me or in the right hand lane. Either way, his journey has far more importance than my safety. Sure, he's indicating, but that's no good to me. And his driving made me say a bad word.
In other news, the camera I'm using is an Oregon Scientific ATC5K. I don't particularly recommend this as it's pretty unreliable - lots of file errors meaning that plenty of what gets filmed is lost. And the attachments are quite disappointing - the handlebar mount is ok (though lots of jolting obviously as you can see) but the helmet mounts are no use, at least not if you are using a BMX style helmet and a helmet mount is far better than a static handlebar positioning. Peh.
