-
• #305
4hrs tops 8 hrs for the return journey
i'm hoping to be back for the champions league finale -
• #306
Skully gets up at the crack
I had heard this about him...
-
• #307
Methinks he doth jest.
Didn't seem to take very long at all last time. No P*nctures or other serious breakdowns/stoppages that I can remember. Not exactly dynamo pace tho... -

Something that should be noted by all riders given tomorrows warm forecast -
bring plenty of water with you.Pheeeeew!
Who's up for a SWIM when we get there? I AM !!!!!!
Post ride swim is a great big bowl of win. It will probably necessitate that I bring a bag to hold towel, togs etc. Something I was keen to avoid but swim > bag inconvenience
-
• #312
really looking forward to rolling tomorrow, that's a whole lot of riders...

I took a twenty minute round-trip to the shops this afternoon, returned to the office, and then polished off a litre of water.
Time for a second bottle cage.
-
• #315
yeah it's been uncertain up till today marky but happy to say
-
• #316
Hmm, no cage bosses on tandem and only 1.5l avec hydration tablets in the camelbak. Might gaffa an emergency bottle of water to the frame somewhere...

Ed I have a waterbottle holder thing that you can velcro onto a belt or maybe even the bike if you want to borrow
It looks a bit like this, but with no carabiner and more velcro. will fit a 500ml bottle easy
Weighs nothing, so I can bring it for you tomorrow if you want..actually I've just remembed I also have a camelbak if you want to double up. -
• #319
cor blimey anyone would think it's gonna be 25C tomorrow
all this talk of water
drink a couple of pints before you leave
quoff a few pints of bitter on route
no need for bottle cages water bottles bidons camel bac's camel toes or any of that malarkey -
• #320
Dicki - I drink anything between 5-10 litres a day at work during the summer often more, I wish I could survive on a couple of pints of bitter and a bidon but alas I have a freakishly thirsty body!
Clefty - Would appreciate a lend of the holder thingy, can never have too much. Ta!
-
• #321
john major ( or was it ian duncan smith ) used to drink 15 pints after a hard day at work down't pit
thats how i plan to rehydrate tomorrow evening ! -

Yeah, you won't need that towel, it's the Thames estuary, you'll pretty much dissolve on contact with the water.
Yeah, I know, just looked it up, water's fine, Blue Flag award and all, never let the truth get in the way of a bad joke.
