I'm 6'1 and my old bike was a 58 fuji track, it fitted fine but felt perhaps a little too big (I'm long in the body!).
I now have a 56 track comp and it feels better

Couple of updates...
There's a 56cm Paddy Wagon at the local Halfords reduced to £300...
The GF can get a Bianchi Pista on her 'Bikes for the NHS' scheme, meaning it'd cost me £450 in 12 months time.
Not sure I like the Kona but it's a bargain, and the Pista looks lovely.

on a bmx your cruising speed is much less than on a road bike

I've been told Taiwanese frame makers normally measure from the bottom of the BB to the top of the seat tube (instead of c-c) so a 56 is more like a 54.
Be safe and enjoy riding fixed. -

Thanks everyone, decided to go with the 56cm, now just waiting for Evans to deliver.

Hey, just got into fixed gear riding with a Fuji track. Has anyone tried putting 25.4mm bars on using the original stem without a shim? Looks like there's still a fair bit of space left to screw down on my 26mm bars.

I use Nitto B123s without a shim. Fit fine.

i'm 5'8 and i've been riding a 52 Fuji Classic. sounds a bit small for me, i know, but i find it much more comfortable and responsive than the 54.
are there any disadvantages to riding a slightly small frame?
i figure i can always increase the stem length if i want to reach a bit further...

@rogerzilla - how's the S3X working out? I have one and am wondering whether or not to build-up.

I stripped my Fuji down, cleaned everything with a sponge and a big tub of elbow grease, put it all back together and went for a lovely glitch-free, silent four-mile ride in the sun. Then I got a puncture. Bugger.
New tires on the way... But it momentarily renewed my love for my Fuji. The End.

Is there a concise list of the different year models of Fuji Track?
And I am waiting for my 2010 model to arrive. It will be my beer steed.

That Fuji ahead stem is fugly, the quill stem is much nicer!

Dammit.
Got my Fuji Track from Velodrome Shop, but it's the wrong size and the order was missing the 18t rear sprocket I ordered with it. I can live with it being 54 and not 56--not that big a difference, there--but the basic gearing is too heavy for me.
Sent them an email and am waiting for an answer. Most likely they've managed to mess up the order as the details form had the right ID number, but was missing the said rear sprocket and still had the wrong size. Okay, I first ordered size 54, but, after checking the geo more carefully, decided to go with 56. I contacted them and was told the change had been made.
Still, they seem a nice operation: response times are short and they sound like a helpful crew.

I have to say I am quite happy with my new FT. I changed the saddle to my old Flite, pedals to Shimano ones I had, added a front brake and put on Randonneurs.
Nice bike. And I've understood the components are a bit better than in the previous models? Not sure about this, but read it somewhere.
for single speed you should be using two brakes.
for fixed, front brake with foot retention.
