  • no way, as it's about 150 times harder to get them here, than in UK or wherever in the western world you are. btw, isn't search function available on ebay.co.uk? :))

  • 150 times harder than very hard is

Phew! Maybe you should just change hubs?

  • or move to UK
send me an invite and you can have the rims

  • That post is useless without pics^

  • yes! i think i can get my colnago trackbike repaired, just got a mail from the guy that was selling his cornelo that he accepted my offer. Just need to find a framebuilder that will do the repair :)

YAY! You might try Jan van Dalen of Duell fame (has a 'steel heart'). He has his workshop not far from my place: http://www.duell.nl/

  • Hah! I just had some exciting news, with a frustrating sting in the tail. My new frame's ready. In the email they sent today, they then go on to tell me I can't collect 'til next week as they're on holiday! Gah! FFFFFFFF!

  • ^ hee hee... not too long.
only one new bike per week allowed on TNRC anyways : )

@ JG - You must be very, very happy.
and sick of beans on toast.
Can't wait to touch it tomorrow :O

  • Vintage 28 hole clinchers are quite hard to find. There's a few Mavics that come up on Ebay but they are usually the grey anodized variety.

^ take that back, i'm watching a pair this very moment

    Orilly? tell me more ...

Bastards I am in Sweden, so tell me more, what are they?

  • My evil bike.. designed to eat nature.

In short, it's a Karate Monkey with LX gears + cranks + hubs, Magura HS33 brakes.

Whats left of the project is fixing a minor problem with the rear derailleur resulting in it not shifting very fast and being a bit noisy..
I think may be the chain is just a little bit too long (moved from previous frame that had a bit longer wheelbase). Oh, and I need to fit a plug in the bar, only the right side is missing one :)

SSSSIIICk to the power of rad. I want. :D

  • The bike originally has 26" wheels, so I'm wondering will it run with the front brake and 700c. Or should i rebuild the original rim fixed or coaster?

And double post, but I have to say, despite what people say, 26" is likely. And unless clearences are tight, 700's and not too big tyres should be just fine.

  • Just finished my latest Pug. Been riding it last 5 days and its fun. Really loving it. When i get around it to it I'd like to get the colour off that chainring. And that fucking Velocity sticker off the rear rim. Damn that fucker is on solid.

  • My current project, Ellsworth track frame (no more info than that, can't find anything anywhere).

Still a few bits to order and chucked my old velocities on for now until I decide what to do, still need to scrub off those stickers when I fancy making my fingers bleed. First real build for me from the ground up, and still a few niggles to sort out. Rides really nicely though.

  • use oil or lighter fluid to remove stickers easily

  • Pretty sure I tried it with WD40 to no avail. Will give lighter fluid a go though, cheers

    Tidy pug. I like it.

  • Try heating the sticker with a hairdryer to soften the glue. This is how you get grip-tape off skateboards.

  • The Mercian, pretty much finished. Campag C Record group set, minus the brakes which are Chrous. 1980 frame.

??!! What about when you're climbing or needing to use the bike in anger?

Why do you think every other road bike has hoods?
