  • Any other input other that what pistaboy said?

  • Personally I dont see how purchasing a steamroller could ever be a mistake, they are brilliant frames, especially if you like to abuse you bikes....in a loving way obviously.

If that's what you call it!

  • my roller loves the abuse

  • I really want something with a quill stem though!
They do the frame in a 1" though dont they?

steamroller used to take a quill stem but they changed it to a-head a while ago

  • cant you just change the forks to ones that can take a quill stem?

  • the fork is 1 1/8 inch, where as a quill stem is 1 inch.

i want a steamroller! anyone wanna buy my 1990 dolan track?

  • You wanna buy my Steamroller? It's a 62cm but fits like a 58cm.

  • 60 more miles...

  • i would, but alas that would be far too large for me, and mine a toy bike for you.

  • Here she is... my daily commuter. Oh how i love my Creamroller.

  • Not as much as you love your bollox, apparently... :-)

  • What bars are on there Pistaboy?

  • @maxcrowe - ha ha. I'd just picked up the Brooks and put it on... not my riding position - as i found out after setting off.

@trainwreck - the bars are the stock ones that came with the bike. The bar tape was just applied, so it makes them look a little thicker than they actually are.

  • Does anyone know what the stock handlebars on the steamroller are? I've looked at the surly website but it doesn't give much away. Failing that can anyone recommend any bars that are a similar shape (Ideally with a 25.4 clamp area)?
I built up a steamroller from the frameset about 6 months ago and have used flat bars since, I want to try some drops but only having a background in BMX I don't have a bloody clue where to start, but oddly enough I like the look of the steamroller stock ones.

  • I've got the some of the original bars I took off mine if you want them.

nitto b125's, b123's, search for "track bars list"

  • Trainwreck - try the Cinelli Criterium bar. Very comfortable.

  • I'm selling my steel nittos, 15 if you want them. A bit scratched, but still nice.

  • Don't get the stock drops, at least not from when the frames were maroon coloured (08?), ugliest bars i've seen, they're like a straight bar with drops on the ends

get some proper ones, !Nhattattack!'s seems like a good choice

  • Building my newly aquired steamroller up now :D

  • Get my PM !Nhattattack!?

track drop are proper drop than the original drop on the Surly?

  • well a drop bar is a drop bar is a drop bar I guess. but from riding with them my advise is to get something better, especially since you can get some tatty, say, cinelli drops for not much cover in wrap for just a few quid

  • Finaly got me one

Gonna have some fun this summer
