Is there anywhere to leave bags etc while racing?
-
• #80

Its a 'ride' btw and not a 'race' .

What time are peeps planning to rollout? Would be good to hook up with some fellow lfgssers, particularly if they are riding fixed. I only live round thd corner so early start would be easy.
What time does the Paris Roubaix start?
Dov, if the timing is right you are welcome to leave your bag at mine. About 500 metres from start, just off Gypsy Hill.

went out in preparation for this yesterday.
managed to get up Canonbie Rd (the steep side) on fixed -
looking forward to itThat's pretty savage. I went up the gentler but longer side yesterday on my fixed, which wasn't too bad if you get a running start and keep plugging. Couldn't contemplate the steep side with the traffic though.

The long, nore gentle (but still 13%) side is the way we're going. The savage short bit we're going down - will mean brakeless young blades should be prepared to think the unthinkable and dust off that monoplaner and dirt harry combo.

I went down that side yesterday, with brakes and SS. Wouldn't want to do it fixed though...traffic on that road is a bit scary. But if someone's blocking then surely people can bomb down at their leisure, into the garbage cans over the road.

What time is the roll out TLC?
Hi harrong
Up to you - we don't want folk going off en masse - you can set off when you like between 7.30 and 11am.
-

I've got the girl's birthday the night before and to get to the start at 7.30 would mean getting up at 6am.. shiiit.
Hope the weather is nice..
I've got the bike, the kit, the name.. all I lack is the talent and the freckles.
Actually, that's a point, I could ride the S-Works if it's nice.

What about if you attach a long stick to your back so it comes over your head in front of you, then with string, tie a pie to the stick so it dangles close to your face but not closer enough to take a bite.
Surely that'd speed you up?

I'm going to use that in the next TT..

@ Hippy.
Race coverage from 1.30, means an 11am start right? Just go a bit faster, innit.
Going to give the new wheels a workout.

Turn up at 11.30, don't ride anywhere, drink pint.. watch P-R... done.
-
• #94
Ahh I need the ride. Makes for a cheaper afternoon in the pub anyway. Nothing like drinking on an empty stomach with a few miles under your belt.
-
• #95
I was joking. My leg is getting better so it'll be a 'not too long' little tester ride for me.
I'm just worried about how much I'll be vomiting before getting to the start after the pissup Saturday.. :) -

i just printed off the route from the link above and it's nearly 4 pages
Except as a means of comparison it's useless. We've done this one before. Stick to 27 or your hair will fall out and girls will laugh at you for no apparent reason. Trust me...
