  • i just printed off the route from the link above and it's nearly 4 pages
i condensed it to 2 a4 sheets in the print preview options in excel, then printed them both on a single sheet of a4 (in printing options). so folded in half it is 2 sides of a5 and still very readable.

  • thanks joe will try that.

  • I've knocked up a condensed 1-page version you're welcome to on:

Only has directions though - no comments.

  • Theres an error on the route spreaddie - shouldn't matter as it'll be signed but #90 - Buckfast Street - should read L onto Bethnal Green Road not R.

BTW there is a route guide for every rider at the start.

  • error at Buckfast Street... how appropriate :)

  • indeed!

AArg - roadworks off the woolwich ferry, theres a slight route change - we're re signing it as I type, its now

    Off Wooleich Ferry
    R Woolwich Church St
    L Frances St
    R Hillreach > Charlton Village

  • I'm going to get lost before I even make the start.. don't worry too much.. people will sniff out the pub in the end.

Had a peek at the route last night... I hope the guy in front of me knows where he's going... once we're over Waterloo Bridge I haven't got a chance.

  • It's south of the river so I'm out. :)

  • thanks to citron for sorting me out with a ride tomorrow. Pearson is still in bits to doing this geared...

just sorting it out on ridewithgps for the garmin....

  • someone had already done one on bikely, have copied it and made the edit at woolwich ferry. enjoy..

  • Let the headaches commence...

  • I spent a chunk of last night sign posting this event. If you feel like it's too much back and forth, don't worry, you can skip out whatever isn't fun and just head for the pub.
But there are some pretty sweet surprise alleys and what not if you do stick to the route.

  • Brilliant! I am heading there soon. Probably roll out from the pub about 9. I will be sticking to the route dilligently. Until I get lost anyway.

  • Moved house yesterday and couldn't find my Sidis this morning... Think lots of swearing and ripping boxes open. Now running late...

Am having a coffee now then heading to the start. Just saw V and Dov heading round.

  • Well? How was it?!

  • One of the most fun rides I've done in a while. Ended up doing about 46 miles after a few wrong turns. Went off too hard at the start and didne have much left for the hills at the end.

Gutted that the ferry was a no-go, was looking forward to enjoying the rest.

  • Enjoyed the cobbles - glad I didn't bust a spoke. Stirling job with the signs Nhat - spent the first half trying to follow the route card, but easier just to follow arrows in the end. What's wrong with kids these days - would have thought at least a few would have been messed about with overnight?

  • great stuff, will definitely be back next year. thanks to the organisers!

  • it was a really nice ride.
especially the bit south of the river

  • Guys well done! Sterling effort, you started by calling it the London Classic and that's what it's become straight out of the box...
Great route, great signage, great people, thanks to all involved.
    Digs

  • That was harder work than I expected.. although sinking a bucketload of piss and getting 3 hours sleep the night before doesn't really make for good ride prep.
Rode with Dov and Wiesia and Joe later on. Took a few wrong turns but enjoyed riding places I've not seen before - I've never been that far east on the river. St Katherines Dock(?) cobbles were my favourite as well as Garden Lane? They were a lot like the Ronde cobbles.
Probably 110-120k fixed by the end of the day. T'was a long day. Watch the broadcast in the pub afterwards and even won tyres for my troubles (thankfully not the pink ones).
Thanks again Dave and the other organisers (Nhatt) for creating the ride.

  • Loads of fun. Spent all day rebuilding my bike after 4 dubious hrs kip on friday. Lovely route, cobbles were tougher than I expected and some amusing climbs at the end. Never spent so long looking for somewhere to go for a piss though, through the woolwich wastelands....

    Mega job with the signing!

  • London = pissoir does it not? :)

  • Hmm....Did think of alfresco. Even stopped in a little backroad....

But, just as I was about to get me doodle out, I looked through the fence and saw a scout hut on the other side.

    Wrong.
