  • Just nodded off for 15 minutes at my desk... that could have caused a problem or two

  • Were you reading Edsquabbles posts?

  • Today's the first day I've nodded off too. Couple of those micro-sleep jobbies in the pre-lunch session. Bit of fresh air seems to have sorted me out a bit.

  • cuppa joe 'll sort

  • Drink more water with your lunch, helps revitalise the body.

  • 15 min nap in the bog works wonders for some. Never tried it myself. We have beanbags for that sort of thing where I work ;)

  • and you'll be to busy running to the toilet to fall asleep

Yep. Block off an hour in your outlook calendar and then pretend you are going to an important meeting. Puurrrfect.

Unless you are a flight controller I don't see the problem.

  • the world didn't collapse so don't worry

Do you have chocolate at lunch time?

Sugar rush and come-downs knock me out occasionally. That damned Pret fridge bar.

I cut out chocolate and I regain alertness and attentiveness.

So if you gorge on lovely yummy chocolate, perhaps it's time to give it a rest for a week to see the difference.

  • I have one of these at work, helps immensely:

  • There was a guy who used to work with a friend of mine. He would often turn up for work at about nine, take an hour's nap under his desk, work until lunch, go for a half hour walk and eat his lunch and then take another hour's nap under his desk before working until five. He even had an alarm clock. When he got busted for it he tried to claim that he had just had an epileptic seizure and then that he had caught narcolepsy. Needless to say, he got fired. Seemed quite enigmatic about it though as he was hoping to get a job somewhere with comfier carpets.

  • Nap in the bogs = life nadir

  • Boss tells me to go for a walk if I look like I'm about to fall asleep. Awkward situation, as he sits directly opposite from me.

  • I handed my notice in at work at the begining of the month. Ive been sleeping and trawling forums ever since. Luckily for me I work in a small workshop out of the preying eyes of the directors etc

  • you post this everywhere
are you suer it isnt you?

  • I often find when I am in a hot workshop or edit suite I nodd off.

Sometimes my job envolves me having to go into empty rooms and lying under desks fault finding or making off cables, I have before managed an hour of hung over sleep in edit suites before now pretending to be doing work. I stick a chair by the door so when people come in they make a noise.

    Zzzzzzz

  • I've just worked out why hippy likes espresso. The cups are really tiny, just right for midgets.

I've got an energising relaxation mp3 thing that I listen to for 20 mins - works good

If you're working in post production our paths may cross at my new job...

  • I've just nipped out for a can of Pepsi and a Caramel Kit Kat chunky - I'm bouncin off the walls now
