And is near the overground for the rest of the world. Or hackney.

that surface is pretty rough from what i remember, lots of loose gravel, but could be good if swept.
though i only had a quick look, not a go on it or anything
seconded. Although there are plenty of well lit tennis courts right next to that pitch...

Looking at this now. Right now we have 48 players. Best way to split teams, imo (I'm posting to get other ideas) is like this:
Tower Hamlets (10)
Hackney N's (7)
Hackney E's (10)
Southwark (7)
West and N (6) - (1 Haringey, 1 Waltham Forest, 2 Hamersmith, 1 Hillingdon, 1 Westminster)
West and S (8) (1 Lambeth, 1 Richmond, 3 Lewisham, 1 Richmond, 1 Sutton, 1 Wandworth)These numbers include some people who may not actually play (Eingang, Sol - depends if they can make it I guess) and some people aren't the list (Aidan). But it's a start. Seem good?
Here's the spread sheet if people want to take a look: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tMxQD1oy28UbaB2PU3o8WCg&output=html

I made a map!
It's not exact because post codes and councils don't match, but I trade to make it more or less right (Southwark is shaped sort of like Southwark, and E2 is Hackney and TH, etc.. bits and bobs which are wrong but it gives you the impression of the areas).

Not quite sure why SE4 (furthest SE) is grouped with the far West?

it's all of south of the river, minus Southwark

Don't question it Sarah, it means I get to be on Dave's team.

Not all of that area is Southwark..SE11 is Lambeth!

Exactly. Any council that had enough players to make a team, got a team (so two Hackneys, a Tower Hamlets, and a Southwark). Anyone that didn't, had to be patched together some how. Basically everyone left over north of the river, and everyone left over south of the river. This seemed easiest, and the best way to create quasi-localized teams even if it left two teams made up of massive areas. To do it any other way requires a lot more hands on construction of invented areas which becomes problematic I think (could look like gerrymandering).
If anyone has a better way of doing it, have a go.

I'm not asking to have a go myself, you asked specifically to get opinion!

It's not based on the map. The map was made to give impression (many post codes are shared between councils). The teams are based on what people said their postcodes and councils were.

I'm not sure from your response whether you took my "have a go" to sound stand-offish. It wasn't meant to be at all. If anyone wants to have a go, do it! Maybe someone has a better idea.

You aiming for 6 teams with 8 players or do different numbers per team not matter? No more than 6 teams allowed?
-
• #174
Ray, thats wicked! Can you work out the most central location of all players? But based on number of players, not just a physical central point of the furthest crosses?
-
• #175
I'd imagine it to be close to Newington, ha!
bingo, cheers Mark
Things to note: it would need sweeping and has big metal goals/bb hoops in plase
