hope nobody minds , i thought this would be a good place to put this info i got today.
a couple of friends will be holding a sewing workshop in deptford london se8. this will teach you all the basics you need to get up and running using an electric sewing machine and then following weeks will show the basics of altering and making garments. where its being held has ample parking space for bicycles and they will have sewing machines there. its going to be held on a tuesday evening between 6pm and 8pm. just thought i would let you know in advance.

you'll be fine. from what they said, the levels that will be catered for are people who have never having looked at a machine to people that have played around on one for a bit.

i am up for after class beers.
it will be held in the cafe train carraige on deptford high street. there is space for bicycles directly outside in clear view of where the class is being held so it will be safe. also there is space by the railings both inside and outside of the property. if you ask nicely they might put it inside for you though.

I think I was the only forumonger there. They still all went for beers after which I couldn't make.
Anyways, These lady's are brilliant! I went in having no clue about sewing, and have left with a couple of hems up my sleeve (pun intended).
I seriously recommend these people if you want sewing lessons. Brilliant.

lol true storyhi sewing circle...a sewing circle,howver you look at it that can only be a good thing! Is there enough tweed for a cap? baker boy style though a tiny bit larger? Bespoke cycling gear is surely on the horizon...
I have a berni, whoever got the bernina, well done!! they are bullet proof, the colnago of the sewing world!!!
