You both are insinuating that Roxy's (and others) posts are self-serving and about BR in the qualis. They're not, Dan has a broken hand ffs...

It's seriously about the inclusiveness of polo in all aspects, last year we left it open until the morning of. I'm fairly disappointed that the vote went for a No, and the closeness of the results shows there are others that feel the same way.

The argument that our number of spots in the euros was dependent on the number of pre-subscriptions is null and void by Clem's post...

(btw, it really wouldn't even matter if no other team did register for the qualis, the option should be there. IMO)

Dan is having a check up in 2 weeks. Hopefully the cast comes off then. We'd like to be able to wait until then to see what our choices are.

Well, mike/roxy (not sure who posts as who anymore), the vote has gone that way, and if i remember rightly, Roxy complimented me on holding a vote about exactly this matter. So I held a vote, and now you're biting at my heels about it.

I don't feel like you insinuated anything. I guess that's the problem with pictures, they can be misinterpreted.

As for the vote though, I think we should have gone with what Clement said. Doesn't matter how many people signed that initial list (in which it never said anything about being definitive), London would have still gotten the same amount of places.

This is just London's community making itself exclusive for the sake of it. For me it's not whether I play or not, it's what kind of community I'm a part of. People who wanted to play in the tournament because they think it might be fun or because it's one more time for them to play polo, or because it gives them a chance to form a team, were actually discouraged here and I think that's sad and the wrong road for us to take. In fact, I think those are the best reasons to play polo ever; Much better reasons than because you might beat all the other teams.

i have to say, I agree. I think its pretty lame that no one else can join in the qualifiers. London polo has always been so inclusive and it would be sad to see that change. I think the "have a word with yourself" ethos was whack, let whoever play, who gives a fuck if you "don't have a chance".

is the euros qualifier the best tournament to form new teams for? there are plenty of others.

I think new teams who played in the euros qualifiers would actually be scared away from polo by the physicality and skill that exists between top teams.
