Snoopert, new teams might be good players just mixing it up for a big tourney
and im sure top teams wouldnt be so physical against a new team -
• #278
well its hard to discuss this further without falling into the 'league placings should earn euros qualification' issue, and that has already been voted on, so i won't bother.
I personally believe that league players should have league teams and the European championship of our sport should be a place for the best teams from Europe to compete for the European title.

max the only people that 'considered' adding their names to the qualy list were people who didnt have full teams and didnt play regularly as far as i saw. Its already going to take a lot of time to get through the games adding more teams that realistically have a much much lesser chance seems to play polo for the sake of it.
The list was up before Dan hurt his hand wasnt it?
London polo is very inclusive max, but logistically adding teams when people had plenty of time to register interest regardless of clements point just because we don't want to upset anyone is just stupid. Nobody registered interest until they were told the opportunity would be lost, then all this kicked up. If you wanted to play you should have written your name down when the thread went up and it would have been really nice to see you, but you dont actually live in london do you which is why you didnt register.
Dont make it into something its not, there is enough shit flying, have a word with yourself. -

have a word with yourself brendan!
I voted NO, and stand by it, the vote went NO, it stands. whatever hypothetical bullshit people wanna put forward, is moot.

Last year 15 teams initially registered and 9 teams played 72 games on the day.
With 13 teams this year you will have twice as many games over the one day unless you decide on a different format on the day.Is it to late to register then ?
-
• #285
yes, it's too late.
-
• #286
yes, it's too late.
Can I appeal ?

Dave put our team name down without asking us, assuming we'd want to play. We all knew how important it was to put down numbers of London players for the Geneva list. I hadn't had a chance to talk it thorugh with J&A whether we were going to go for it, but for the sake of the list our name was down. Just as James put 'James +2''
Now I've finally caught up with my team, we're definitely going to try and qualify - now lets hope we can all make the chosen date....!

^but saying that, I do not think we should exclude anyone who wants to play.
-
• #291
as i said before, if you dont play throw ins, or league or have a team. So that means i dont mean james, roxy, joanie, just max.

Just as James put 'James +2''
Just to clarify the above was not me. If I could have played I would have registered my interest before January 20th.
Polo love and all that. -

... We all knew how important it was to put down numbers of London players for the Geneva list...
I didn't. I put my team down just because it's polo games. I didn't know* I was adding to a list that was supposed to dictate the number of London spots (which it didn't, really).
I'm not even sure if I'll be able to go to Geneva yet... even if ZU makes it through.*Yep, put that down to not fully reading everything all the time...

Perhaps that's because no one new it was going to be a definitive list.
Perhaps that's because they were still thinking about forming teams/ talking to people about it.
Perhaps because they knew that, according to Geneva, they still had time. Its already going to take a lot of time to get through the games adding more teams that realistically have a much much lesser chance seems to play polo for the sake of it.
Polo isn't just about winning and competing.
The list was up before Dan hurt his hand wasnt it?
This is about making polo inclusive and not ruling out people for the competitiveness of it, not about a particular team.
London polo is very inclusive max, but logistically adding teams when people had plenty of time to register interest regardless of clements point just because we don't want to upset anyone is just stupid.
Not wanting to upset people in our community who just want to play more polo is a great reason to allow people to play. Barring them from a tournament is a "stupid" reason.
Nobody registered interest until they were told the opportunity would be lost, then all this kicked up.
Well, duh! Yes, when they found out they missed out on an opportunity they didn't know they had missed out on they inquired. That's usually how these things work.

If Sarah and I ever actually agree on something it should be taken fucking seriously. Otherwise planets may collide. Srsly
no, you would have made it 50/50 exactly! ha. Then what would we do?
We could go with what Clement said.
