I'll be heading down from the midlands - would be happy to arrange to meet up with others who are there early (Lucifer?)

  • Sounds good, Pistaboy. Can't decide wether to come down on the Friday night or the Saturday morning - I'm also fancying that London Classic ride followed by Paris Roubaix on telly on the Sunday. I've got a green light from the wife and I'm going to take full advantage!

For the infinite amount of hilarity your blog has provided me i'll happily take you to the club for elevenses and a pre ride stiffener if you find yourself in town early. By that I mean caff and hipflask of cheap gin.
Need to go see JD for tweed...

  • ARRGH! Some CRUNK just sniped the perfect tweed jacket from me on eBay!!!!

Vintage Herringbone Harris Tweed jacket 40"

  • Keep me informed Mr Lucifer. I'll catch up with family on the Friday night in Highgate, so I too will be around.

not that any of you read the mirror, but..

RETRACTION - APOLOGIES - REVERSE FERRET - GROVEL
Blike has done a disservice to the Tweed Run, we remarked that the event was not "a Charity Ride". Tweed Run benefits Bikes4Africa and so we got it horribly wrong. So apologies to all those who run Tweed Run, the participants, and the good work they do.

    Tsk, tsk.

  • One doesn't permit one's below stairs staff to take that periodical.

ha its only going to get worse.

  • the whole thing was really nasty actually, belittling participants.. not just that they missed the charity aspect.

  • the whole thing was really nasty actually, belittling participants..

Did they think that tweed was a bit gay?

Is it a sportive? Perhaps it's a charity ride? No, it's neither, and it's not really about cycling anyway. London's Tweed Run is primarily an opportunity for moneyed hipsters to buy a new wardrobe, and spend a day posing in the capital wearing 1930's tweed garments. Only those with access to a vintage bicycle and an itchy pair of plus fours need attend. Poop poop!

So they pretty much got it all wrong, thank funk for the grovelling reversal.
