  • Hey Ed, might the problem be the Bars ;)

  • its psychological if you are placing the bars saddle and pedals in the same position.

  • The New Pompino just waiting for me to find my BB tool, straddle wires and flip that stem the right way up. Proper photies when my camera is back from repairs.
Like to see how this looks when finished. I've just ordered one, so trying to work out how it's going to be set up. What size tyres are you running? On One's website says the frame can take up to 32mm, but I'm sure I've seen some pompinos with 35mm tyres.

  • 32 fits mine fine, i reckon 35 would but would leave little room for movement

  • Just finished my Bill Whitcomb:

  • perhaps, doesn't stop the saddle soreness (and I didn't raise it way too high like those fixie skidder in MASH)

    Just for shit and giggle, I put a different bar on it, it end up being a lots more fun to ride;

Not looking forward to selling it this week at all, but then, I'll be £200 up, and that'll go to the Condor Pista.

  • Just finished my Bill Whitcomb:

    Lovely

  • What's going to keep the sprocket on the carrier though?

    bottombracket lockring i guess

  • I dont usually dig on rearospokes, but that Moser is a beast!

    Want.

  • ...shame I'm selling the Genesis...

...not looking forward to selling it this week at all...

oh, just HTFU, Ed, and let someone else ride this **really lovely bike! **
    :)

Cool, I might go for some Vittoria Cross 32s for the loose, broken surfaces I'll be riding on.

  • Hah! that someone is in dire need of a bike, so his need is far greater than mine (after all I have two bikes), anything to get people riding.

  • ...anything to get people riding...

    fixed
    :)

  • Finished the polo/trick/beater bike

Going back a few pages but i really like this. What Cutter version is it, V3 or V4? Also is it a 56cm?

  • Does anyone know if you can get old style road drops 46cm wide. I really like the shape of the standard ones and I like the look of the polished alu or chrome. I also wouldn't mind keeping them cheaper than £20!

  • About twice the price you want, but Deda 215 is available in a traditional round bend, deep 145*x95 or shallow 135x80, 46cm outside, silver finish, 26mm clamp. If you can live with a 31.8 clamp, the Deda Speciale is available in 134 drop x 80 reach x 46cm in silver at about your price point.

*145 is the same drop as a Cinelli 63, which was considered shallow back in the day when the 66 was more like 160mm, but handlebar fashion has moved on now that the brake hoods are the principal riding position.

sounds nice. could you maybe post a pic and some advice on where to order these? i only see black ones, not round bends but 'anatomical'...

edit: found some. but not round or 'tracky' enough for me

  • Finished! Just need to swap the seatpost and a few tweaks, but it's all there and rides really sweet! (Sorry for massiveness of pics, not sure how to resize on here) - BLB fork is a compromise - not as nice as the double crown original, but I really didn't want to drill that - this looks ok I think though?

I didn't know you could get valve lengths measured in feet! :)

  • Your bird's bike has come along nicely Ed.

  • Just finished today.

    Fantastic.

I was thinking about taking my old GT back to Oz for storage but it could be brought back to life with a similar conversion. I'd go for road bars rather than track drops. Is that a saddle cover or did you get it like that?

  • I <3 hippy coments

  • Just finished today.

love this, looks perfect for the snow.

  • Needs a pair of these this week

  • Is that a saddle cover or did you get it like that?

    It's a re-cover of a Felt 1.3 using JOL's guide on this forum

  • Nice one. Clearly too much effort for a lazy cunt like me but it does look cool.
