not so much to do- change stem maybe... change pedals for sure... fits real nice.
also came with a more low key DA on Wolber tub wheel. probably use that more regularly. the disc is fun tho.
fair bit to do on this one- sort out saddle, tyres, tubes, chain etc.... -

There's no "y" in the Italian alphabet.
Well, i know that, i share the same alphabet. And...?
Talking of Campagnolo, I need to clarify some doubts please.
Is there any report, anyone has ever found of imitations of Campagnolo Record Pista cranks?
I was offered to buy some BNIB, really cheap by someone that was recommended, but that I don't know... thing is, I went to check the cranks, (all good til this point), and found myself really surprised due to the finish that the cranks had... really bad/sharp corners, the chainring bolts looked cheap (albeit saying Campag), but what striked me the most was that every time I tried to lower the price, the guy said... yes, as if he wanted me to take it, no matter what. Plus, there was no engravings on the back of both arms, anything.
So.... can anyone please confirm me if I'm just being paranoid here, (sorry but I'm not familiarized with the latest Campag record Pista).... or was I actually right, and it was a dodgy deal?
I would appreciate if anyone has some pics, or actually the BNIB cranks so I can see and compare... he said I could still pick them up tomorrow... so i would need this asap.. please.
cHEERS!the 90's (shield version) have the engravings on both arms 170 P [51] 9/16 x 20

Is this the modern cranks or the old version?
if you're doubting the authenticity of the crankset, you're better off following your instinct on this.

The modern, this:

So is this a photograph of the crank you've been offered, or a photo of another crank you think is genuine? The above certainly looks normal.

that black bike would look good with risers and black cranks/wheels etc..i think drops always look too far down to be useful.

Those are all pics taken from google. I need to know if the modern version have any of those engravings, or they're just smooth flat on the inside of the arms? Anyone? The ones offered to me were smooth, had nothing on the arms, only the outside logo (RECORD 165 campagnolo); they looked normal yes, but because I had never seen up close (on my hands), any set before, it got me thinking.

The modern versions have the engravings. I'll take a photo for you later.
It is possible what you have is a prototype or something, but I have a feeling those are stamped 'prototype' or similar.

hmmm.... so that shit was fake?
(i know anything is possible nowadays, but i've never heard before of imitations of campagnolo... like Ed wrote last night "i followed my instinct"... it looked dodgy).
The guy sells on ebay and has no negative feedback, and he sells gruppos, carbon canks, etc...only has (amazing) good feedback.... i'm lost now. -
• #19849
I just double-checked, and sorry! The modern ones do not have any engravings on either arm, except for a single number on the drive side arm near the spider which indicates the year of manufacture.

Hahaha!... so it's legit!?... if so i must take them, it's one stoopid price for campag.
(thanks illy, you're a legend dude)
a little clarification: i'm from Ukraine, and here getting hands on italian track frame is very close to impossible. so by "going all-italian" i meant evrything but the frame
and that's what i'm aiming at, i believe i posted my 70-ies era soviet track frame earlier on, but here's a link in case someone missed it

so far i've managed to get my hands on campy record hubs, right campy strada crank arm (open to offers of left fluted 172.5 campy crank arm in PM) and San Marco rolls saddle. currently bidding on campy seatpost and waiting for cinelli stem/bar combo to arrive...
