Just say to yourself "I am Jamie Staff and I am going to snap these cranks off"
Works for me, though I've only managed to break a Campy sealed BB so far...
LOL - I would love to wear one of those cool casco helmets they have. Though i think i might look like a bit of a douche out on the road! But then again, i might be like that guy who wears the AFL helment. Is that a win or a lose?

Dolan frame, rear spok, brakless.
E9 locale this morning. You were just clipping in as we exchanged a knowing "hello there".
Followed to the fields, checked to see if you were ok, cos' you'd stopped and were checking rear tyre.
Anyone ?
I think we're almost neighbours. -

I pull away from the lights faster than everyone. 60 inch gear FTW.
I get passed on the straight though. Especially by OK With My Decay and Ondine :-) -

spotted isn't about the attractiveness or otherwise of who you spot, thats subjective from your part and has no bearing on what they look like to the rest of us, you could have just said, girl on x bike at x road at x time, describe distinguishing features of bike and them and leave it at that, rather than what you said below.
which in the great scheme of things is a pretty poor description of the woman and the bike.
but hey ho, you live and learn.
Hmmmm. I know that certain people on this here forum are against the posting of descriptions such as; pretty girl, gorgeous lady, voluptuous woman etc. But I for one just don't bloody get it. I don't post such things because I am aware that there are people who wouldn't appreciate it (but for this reason I do feel a bit chastised).
I personally would love it if someone wrote a post in which I was spotted, and described as; fit, sexy, gorgeous etc.
I hold the view that people who don't like it should just ignore it (though I don't really understand why they don't like it, as I don't believe it to be a sexist or derogatory thing), but that is because I am on one side of the fence and they are on the other, and would obviously prefer that such things simply weren't posted.
I think Corny's point that a physical description doesn't add to the "spot'', isn't really accurate. People will say things like; 'saw a bloke wearing ridiculous skinny jeans and an awful haircut..." without batting an eye, or being told off for it.
I think that people need to lighten up, and stop trying to stop people posting what they want. If it isn't offensive, sexist, racist, derogatory, or anything else nasty - I don't see the problem.
And for what it's worth, my pretty, sexy, gorgeous girlfriend agrees with me! :)

Isn't it enough that some women don't like it? Maybe, just maybe, you don't need to understand it; maybe you're not the one getting yelled at by van drivers the whole day long. Maybe for you it would be a compliment, rather than a further indication that your entire existence seems to be judged on whether people want to fuck you or not. Maybe this one just isn't about you, as they say in the teen fillums.

Never said it was about me. But i did say that i don't, and never have made a comment based on looks in this thread.
Please don't say that I am making this issue about me, because i'm not. I've been sat in the corner on this issue for ages now, and have never spoken up. It's just my opinion, and it wasn't meant to offend.
If you honestly think that your existence seems to be judged by whether people want to fuck you, or not, then I think you are hanging out with the wrong crowd.
And i do constantly get yelled at by van drivers!

Personally, I think that I would resent posts that say "Saw a fat ugly old bastard pushing an over-geared bike up a slight incline". Potentially offensive personal remarks are unnecessary when we have names or other ways of describing us. Perhaps "silver haired chap struggling up a slope on a beautiful black Glider" would suffice even without the addition of "wearing unfortunate black lycra".
Mind you, Will keeps calling me a fat **** and I don't mind that but maybe it's because it is Will and it is hard not to like Will.
that's pretty quick!!
