@Habitual - ah, cheers, mine is 27mm so I guess the seat-post at least is 501 from something someone said earlier in this thread but then Reynolds 501 didn't come out until 1983 and from various efforts to date the frame it 'seems' to be older than this - most odd :s
I've kind of given up on dating it accurately to be honest with 1 of the frame no. digits missing (it's 332357 btw). I'd love to know why it didn't get stamped, or what it was that made the guy doing it forget lol.
