Knocked this one up really quickly this afternoon. It would be a current project but a) I ate msot of it an hour ago and b) it didn't have any currents in it...

Sun Manxman 1954/1955.
Since the photos were taken, I've added:
- a new chain and sorted out the tension; and
- black Oury grips, which I'm unsure about.
I'm looking for a Sun Cycles (Birmingham) head badge. On eBay I've only come across Worksop badges. Any ideas?

Some black brooks bartape would go well with the saddle, loving the gorgeous baby blue colour! ;-)

...quick enough with kid's stencil set. 20 minutes max. And it wasn't shit, it was chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn actually, jealous.

morning all. pretty new to this, so interested to see what people have to say. bought this at the weekend:
http://i36.tinypic.com/1pwa2w.jpg
it's a 2000 Merckx - I think it's the MX Leader but minus the decals. got the Merckx (panto'd?) logo in all the right places and some lovely lugs. Pretty unbelievable condition - got it from France and they know how to cherish their bikes over there.
Campy Chorus throughout, campy hubs with nice Ambrosio Excellence rims.
planning on going fixed on it (that's puppy killing, right?) and need - as a priority - to lose the saddle and hideous bar tape.
would also be interested to know what people think this bike would be worth.... -

That bike is perfect as a road bike, in fact, sell it to me instead of turning it into a fixie skidder!
seriously mate, best to keep that as a road bike and turn another bike into a fixed wheel one, a geared road bicycle can only be properly appreciated after learning and riding a fixed wheel bicycles.
I have a lovely (cheap component thought) road bike that I converted it to a fixed wheel bicycles, now I wish I hasn't because it's only recently I started enjoyed geared bicycles even more.

For once I agree with Ed, don't do it!
Beautiful bike that. New saddle and bar tape and get some miles on it.

+1. Riding fixed got me into cycling, but now i really like riding geared too and would kill for a bike like that. Way too nice to convert.

convert it to fixed but dont shave off any bosses, safely store away/keep all the components you take off.
you will learn a great deal from the experience. i think it's worth slightly more than you paid for it.sorry if i missed something.

What size is that Merckx? If it's 58cm I'll give you £400 for it, then you can take that money and buy an OTP. Win-win. Win?
back wheel: velocity , frame: viking , forks: unknown, front wheel: vintage rigida, stem: cinelli
