I've got the Bontrager one, which I am sure is made by someone else and then has a brand slapped on.
That aside it is extremely solid and well made, and holds my 4" travel full susser equally still and stable as my other much lighter bikes.
It does not have a tool tray, which would be handy at times, but I could easily make one if I needed.
I'm sure you can find them more cheaply, but I paid £99 for it at On your bike at London Bridge, purely bacause they were open on a Sunday and I could take it home then and there.

Edinburgh Cycles have a special on their own branded Revolution Tune Up Workstand for £49.95 - I've got a virtually identical one that didn't come from them and cost me about £60 2 years ago, I can highly recommend it and at this price it's one of the cheapest available. Looks same as the one in the Merlin Cycles deal, but that toolkit ain't worth £50.

They're also doing a tenner off the Specialized Air Tool Comp track pump, also one of the best I've ever seen/used:
http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/ebwPNLqrymode.a4p?f_ProductID=6857&f_SupersetQRY=C252&f_SortOrderID=1&f_bct=c003154c003146c003272BTW, just bought an Elite from Wiggle too, until a coupla days ago it was half price at £75. It's better for big jobs where you need a lot of leverage on the frame like chasing/facing/fitting BB or headset as it is very rigid and holds the frame very firmly, downside is you have to remove one of the wheels, and it's not so convenient with track ends. The Revolution type one is a good all round bet and a great bargain, not quite so good for jobs like the above.

anyone made there own? Can't be that hard, i'm on the look out for a suitable clamp then it should be easy unless i'm missing something??
-
• #66
if you search the internet there are lots of make you own stand.
Haven't tried any yet, but they all look quite simple.
Re clamp: I thought the first one was quite a good idea (the tube with hinges) - that way you can make sure its properly paded.

Park do loads of different clamps which you could fit into a home made stand.

^ good idea, but have you seen the prices of some of them! Ouch!

I can recommend Edinburgh Bike Co-op's own brand (Revolution) workstand. It's sturdy, stable and has an easy to use clamp. You can also adjust the angle on the clamp to make your bike level/easy to access and all the bolts are standard sizes, so are easy to replace:
£79 inc free delivery.

I just ordered a cheap wall bracket from cyclingbargains
it holds the bike by two hooks on the top tube. Cheaper than a full stand and can be screwed into my garden wall

After seeing some of the links on the previous page I'm gonna make my own....doesn't look too hard....And after recently buying a house I'm on a budget!!!
Can't be hard....surely!!!! :-)

i think i'm gonna go SJS:
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/src/lfgss/product-SJSC-SJSC-Foldable-Cycle-Repair-Work-Stand-10629.htmlooks good imo, anyone see any issues?
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=10231
same exact stand, good reviews galore.

eyebrows, I'd be keen to hear what you think of the above if you do indeed go for the SJS one...

my one of these just turned up
http://www.cyclingbargains.com/product_info.php?products_id=163
its a little different than in the picture, the bracket will fold up and clip in place when not in use
it looks robust enough to go up on a garden wall
the bike is only held in place by gravity but it should make life easier and was considerably less than a full stand (will keep an eye out on ebay for a good one 2nd hand)
sorry - been working...
It's not ridiculously light, but by bodging together a shoulder sling it should be easily manageable to Souths. Mind you I'm only 5 mins away - depends how far you need to go.
I'll have a look tonight and see if i'm talking out my arse.
