I have this one:
And it seems to be pretty good- although having not used another it is impossible to really make a comparison.
It holds my full suspension MTB rock steady though, which has impressed me with its strength and stability.

how do the ones above handle Carbon seat posts? I've herd that they're not too great with Carbon seat posts
-
• #40
Always been fine with mine, no damage at all, just holds it nice and steady.
Do not, however, ever clamp a frame tube with one (or so I have been told).
I believe it to be cheaper to replace a seatpost than a frame tube.

I bought this stand to build my bike last week... http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/bike-workstand-53433343/ I was annoyed with myself when I got it home because for some reason I just assumed it would fold up; no such luck! Solid isn't the word: the tubing is thicker than scaffold! Saying that though, it is quite shiny and without the red tray it looks like a shop display. I'm gonna crank the extension right up and store my fair-weather bike on it.

Looks like a good bargain - anybody used one before?

Just resurrecting this thread to see if anyone, bought of of here or how the particular stands that people had/have are standing up to the use? Looking to get one soon so...

I've got the Tacx Cycle Spider Team - brilliant stand!

same as db?
-

I've got the one from Merlin. It folds up neatly and it holds the bike securely (even during rotafixing) so that's pretty much what I need.
Would have ideally liked a tool/bits tray as well, but am happy to live without.
You can have a borrow to try it out if you like, skoota?
-
• #48
Really is it that portable that i could borrow it at souths?
-

The Edinburgh Cycles one is good, but you can get the same stand from Roseversand.de for less including shipping and buy lots of cheap euro stuff at the same time.
edit: the Merlin one is the same as the EBC one.

my one is quite heavy, which is good for a stand. it folds up out of the way though. it's the old model which you may not be able to get.
try one off the cheaper park stands there good dont goto budget or it will just fall over or the clamp will be shit
