You really can't leave your bike anywhere in this shithole. You'd be better off watching it from distance with a gun and lets admit it, they all deserve a bullet in the stomach.

• #2779
can we just fucking blow up the whole of hackney? spread napalm over every piece of shit estate and watch their corpses char?????????????

if you're at a loss then gimme a shout.
I know the pain. It's like loosing someone. The anger and pain sears through you when you remember the loss or look at the D lock just there...
reading all this now after a few lagers is making my blood boil. Knowing some turd is riding your bike, that you spent money and time on to construct to your own personal spec frustrates the hell out of me. they can die, in hell.

How did u end up Dave, are you (already) back riding?

just got my bike stolen from Tesco's in Whitechapel road.
totally gutted.honestly, and im still in shock at how quick it happened.
so i walk in to Tescos's i don't have a lock with me, so I assess the situation and see the security guard right by the door. i mean literally next to it. ok, good.
Im with a work colleague and i ask him to keep an eye out for my bike which i put right in to tesco's, right next to the counter, with the security guard literally 1 foot away. I ask the security guard to look out for it and in fact, he rests his hand on my bike seat, so i feel confident.
so off i go to get my beef burgers i planed to buy, about 3 car length away, and by the time i get there, i hear some shouting, i look round, and my bike is gone.
What the holy fucking shit ???
so i run like a fucking mentalist, and he's gone, no where to be seen.
after speaking with the security guard and my friend, what happened was that the thief's friend asked for directions to the security guard which distracted him for 5 secs, in which time the thief got hold of my bike and was on his way.
My friend saw this immediately, and went for him and he was literally so fast that he could not catch him, cos the thief started riding it immediately.security guard went running after him what seems miles down the road, and by the time i caught up with him he's lost sight of him, as the thief had caused loads of havoc by running reds lights at breakneck speed it seems and cars having to do emergency stops all over.
Well, this is what i was told and i could see everyone talking about how "crazy" that guy was.Anyway, im here typing this and i feel ok about it, but it is hard to not feel angry at my friend, and the security guard and last but not least the thief.
This deserves to be in the epic fail thread, since the security guard was a foot away and my friend was a less than 2 meters away and they still couldn't do anything. For fuck sake.
Anyway i have some plans to get it back, as it is registered and all that, and besides the front wheel is put on with a pin-lock.
Hope the fuckers drill a hole in their eye, and die trying to remove it. cunts.
as you can see the pictures show different variations of parts, but basically the top picture is how it looks like now, but with white handlebar tape.
please please please, if you see it, grab it for me if you can and tell them it's yours. If anyone does help me get the bike bike, i'll see you straight with lifetime beers at drinks or a hefty wad of cash... honestly, whatever , just name it, i just want my bike back.
edit]
actually i'll go one step further and say now that to who ever manages to trace it will get £100.

shame the prick didn't get smashed up running those reds. I wish I could have seen the cunt who robbed my ride have his head caved in by a lorry, i'd fucking piss on him.

Well I got myself a nice new frame, not quite my vivalo, but still decent. Given up hope on finding that bike now, must have been stripped to sell to pricks on BL by now or being hidden for a few months to sell on later. Either way, whoever buys that back won't get away with riding it. Best of luck to all here who have lost their rides...so angry to hear of it.

apparently, he was a Moroccan, short thin build, clean shaven.
but thanks slaytanic, i totally feel the same, angry yes, very.
But then again, what can you do ? answer is nothing but lock lock lock your bike every fucking time, without exception from now on by me, in any case.
i will find my bike, eventually, not many like mine floating about so it'll be easy to identify.it's such a god damn shame these scumbags can do what they want and basically degrade everyone's life who lives in the city.
only one thing allows it to perpetuate and that's the law, its fucking shit, if they get caught, they already know they're in the clear.
it's a joke.
So that leaves us, honest, tax paying, good hearted civilians, plagued with stealing scumbags. I fucking love this country. -
• #2785
I still think the main problem is the trade of stolen goods being done in the clear and it´s perfectly acceptable by the city. These twats steal because they will always sell. Which means someone always buy.
I mean, people that go for that route, the cheap and dishonest one, are the fuckers that feed the monster. I knew people that would go to BL with no conscience, just to get a cheap bike. That´s the revolting thing. Every time I see someone being persuaded to buy a bike around BL and showing interest, I feel like sharing some D-lock body contact. To the buyer more. -
• #2786
thanks nukow.. too true.
i almost forgot to mention, it has a white seat also and is likely to have the italian coloured tyre still on it since it is locked with a coded security skewer like in the picture.
very distinctive. red green and white. -

Christ, the fucking police in this city are bloody useless.
only two ways out of my building and both have at least two cameras on them. one set of cameras is connected to a police station/garage and they sill have no clue who did it (or where to find the nose on their own faces).
Useless... -
• #2788
I wrote that the twat who nicked my bike came back around 10min later, in BL. The police was there, they do fuck all about it. The fact he was under 18 gave him all the confidence in the world... i took his pic tho'...

Sorry to hear about your bike Dylan :( , I hope it can be tracked down.
thanks matey.
on the bright side, i have a lovely Roberts fillet brazed track frame, cranks and bb to go with it, and a headset, with bars and a front brake ready to go.
i also have the rims.
i have some tyres and tubes spare and all i need is for the frame to be powdercoated and the bb threads extended and some hubsIt's just a bloody good excuse now to spoil myself and build a proper fixed puppy killer :D

you want to kill puppies? you sick fuck, you deserve to have your bike stolen. i hope the theif takes your mother for a lovely chicken dinner and never calls her back.

by the way - for people that go to brick lane looking for stolen bikes, its worth going through different times of the day. i think someone comes and delivers stolen bikes to the sellers once they have been sprayed. It happened to me - the bike turned up towards the end of the day, sprayed the same colors as the previous bikes the guy was selling.
and on a different note - report your bikes stolen to the police. It means if you do find it and catch the guy there is more chance he will be charged - otherwise he'll just walk.

Stolen: My gf's CB Mixte
Stolen from her back yard near Hoxton (well over a 2meter wall)
Just on the off chance someone might spot a dirty scally on this and fancied punching him in the face and taking the bike back!
Its a gold claude butler majestic - mixte frame, old shimano mech, northroad style bars, and caramel oury grips, oh and tan walled tyres.....
Let me know if you see it around
Its nothing special, but she loved it and we planned to do it up at some stage!!

My bosses red condor got nicked on tuesday eve from the UCL campus in the city.... I don't know many more details other than the bike was worth about £1200, it was parked in a well lit area with cctv and they basically just cut through his chain (left it there mind - how very thoughtful)..... He's about 6'6'' so its a pretty big frame...

Been lurking for a while, looking for an excuse to post something. Found it...
Not Hackney thievery this time - my girlfriend and I have just had four bikes swiped from out of our courtyard in Camberwell. I plan, once the rage subsides, to check out brick lane of course. Anywhere else I should be looking, south of the river perhaps?
I'll have a dig for photos, decriptions in the meantime:
- 2005 Langster (the grey one), brown charge spoon saddle, 105 brakes and Mavic CXP22 wheels with harry rowland stickers on them
- black Kona Africa Bike with a giant chesterfield-sofa looking saddle and mismatched tyres
- white Closed 700c mtb-thing with front disc and 8-spd nexus coaster brake hub
- pretty washed-up looking GT legato 4
Not too bothered about the GT (it'll be the finders fee...,) but the other three are fairly distinctive - many thanks for a shout should anyone see one of them.
I'll go back to muttering to myself and randomly kicking things now...

Checking gumtree on a five minute cycle. Probably unwise to call and demand to meet in a secluded alley two minutes after he posts the ad though... -

dhit dylan, just seen this. hope you get get it back.
thanks multi.
you know, this forum rocks, whether it by phone, internet or in person, the people here are second to none.
when the chips are down everyone on this forum helps out, it's just amazing, I'm overawed by it to be honest.
I've never experienced anything like it.
