Just got it!... out of egay 25 sterling squid NOS.
i have almost the full groupset for my road bike project. Stem is badass, as is the rear mech and pedals. Levers are impossible to find in white and nos tho. Grrr.
Enjoy your ace stem -

I got knocked off my bike about a month ago, and as a result both the bike and my teeth are a bit wonky. Needed a replacement asap so went to my bike shop of choice and ordered an Edwardes Special, effectively a rebadged Dolan track champ. I'm a one of those weird lycra roadie types most of the time and the thought of going fixed proper is still a bit daunting to me, especially because my commute is a bit sketchy in places, so I committed sacrilege and got it drilled for a rear brake. Sorry about that, Clark at Edwardes wasn't too happy either.
I chucked on a few bits I had lying around, but everything else is the cheapest possible to get me on the road quick.
Anyway, a month later, here it is. It's a bit of a mess, component wise, and as it's my first non-OTP I have no clue what to stick on the sodding thing. Wheels need some love, I like the look of H+Son SL42 rims in black, but have no idea what's a good hub to lace them to. And a black crank set would be nice too. What would you do if it was yours?

Are you riding it single speed with a flip flop hub at the moment? Looks like you are. If so you'll want both brakes.
What are you going to do with it? Choice of components depends on that. What makes you want H+Sons? If it was me I'd get some black open pros and some black sugino 75s, if you can afford them, then decide if I wanted high or low flange hubs then think about what hub budget I'd got to play with. Just what I'd do.
There's no single answer. Nice avatar by the way ;)

What would you do if it was yours?I wouldn't get H+Son rims thats for sure. If you're a roadie then you probably have as a good an idea as to what are good and bad rims. Failsafe is always OpenPro's but they're kinda plain looking (which is good in my book). Unless you specifically were looking to build a HHSB but judging by your current set up you aren't.
Also at 615 grams the H+Son rims are pretty heavy (Open Pro's are around 450g) and of course rotational weight is way worse than non-rotational.
I don't know a great deal about Track hubs. I just built a wheel to a System Ex hub which is cheap but not bad for the money (£25, not too heavy, sealed bearings).
Back brakes are all good. Its probably good practice to continue to use it if you're more used to road bikes and your main focus is there.

beaten by a minute by Fox.
Everyone loves Open Pro's.

FTW! Especially roadie types. You said what I couldn't be arsed to type - bit heavy/HHSB for someone who isn't going to be skidding round east london.

Thanks for the advice! Must admit, the H+Son choice was purely aesthetic, liked the idea of something with a hint of HHSB and something black/deep section was where I went to. Other end of the scale is the Mavic Open Pro Ceramics but a bit too pricey for the time being. Sugino 75 looks nice though, thanks for that.
What are the benefits of high flange vs low flange hubs, or is that solely an aesthetic thing?
(As to what I'm going to do with it, for now it's a nippy commuter, but once liability and insurance gets sorted I'll salvage what I can of my old Bowery and turn this into a 'Nice Bike'® for days when I don't feel like gears. Or TT it) -

lots of info on this around...
basicaly low flange hubs = longer spokes. Therefore, less stiff and should be a bit more comfy.

Okay I've just gotten my Guarini back from Tour De Ville who helped me out sourcing some parts and most of the build (I pussied out a bit but wsa good to put some business their way and they did a nice job nice lads in there) Though did swap out the stems and handlebars.
It's a work in progress want to change the wheels and seatpost next.
