Ha!
I found these forks on framebuilding.com going cheap and bought them before my frame arrived. I didnt realise they were supposed to go with an integrated headset but turned out they fit flush with my headset. I now have both forks so can swap them over when I feel like a change (usually in about a week)

Rob, there are headset that are design for a 1" steerer but fit on a 1" 1/8th headtube, perhaps that what you have? could be a possiblity.
edit - did I just made that up or does it exist?

maybe. it doesn't look like it though(t).
it was one of the first ones they made... so maybe it's just the early ones.
i never did understand why they used a 1" Ahead, it just seems silly. -

Nice one crane, must've felt nice and light! althought I have to ask, ceramic brakeless??
-
• #15925
well there are 2 reasons
1 i wanted a shallow rim without a braking surface, or at least an invisible one
2 i thought they were the cd finish when i bought them back in june, although now i dont mind, because it looks like cd finish is really popular now and appearing on more and more bikes, i already ride a track bike i dont want it looking exactly the same as everyone else's
i said decent looking.
