Have you got Camilla as a definite and Mrs O as a possible?

    I have.

  • How about a random lady with the surname of judge?

  • this is like having a scientology recruitment quota to fulfil.
have enlisted a friend - she has actually raced before, but not on the track.
we must be nudging 15 by now...

  • How about a random lady with the surname of judge?

    Yep, she's in.
we've got 17 if the two "maybes" turn up, 18 will cover it at £8, any less and it might have to be £9 to cover track hire.

  • I'll be there! Will need to use one of the loaner bikes... what kind of foot retention set-ups do they have?

  • i am riding 48x16 at the moment. I agree with Stelle 48x15 might be nicer as I find the gear I have a bit spinny
i think that rob calculates with 27"

  • Gutted i'm missing this. Will there be another womens track day coming up soon?

  • i'd love to do this if i can. i know its weak but really can't guarantee anything at the moment :(
rpm, can i join in if i just show up?

  • Will there be another womens track day coming up soon?

There might if we have a mild autumn/early winter!

otherwise, if there is call for it, we may consider doing a regular womens sessions next season, induction and skills training for novices, and event specific stuff for the likes of stelly! (women's and men's events are different, it makes sense to actually practice these in gender isolation)

so far we are not going massively over numbers, so yes.

  • can i come too please?
    emailing...

Toe clips - you can bring your own pedals if you want.

Think I'll probably be going for 48/15 too.

  • didn't get a mail from you V..?

Sorry my first email didn't go through. I have sent one just now.

  • ok, we appear to be fully booked!

from the email I have just sent round:
    These are the final details:

Riders requiring hire bikes to arrive at 3:30pm (you can put your own pedals on if you bring spanners)
Riders should have suitable clothing for cycling, including helmets and gloves, helmets are available for free hire.
Bring snacks and liquid (you can get water on site)
Riders wishing to use their own bikes should ensure they are free of brakes/extraneous attachments and are fitted with drop handlebars with bar-end plugs and grips/tape.
Gearing is restricted to a maximum of 90" and a minimum of 82" it is strongly recommended that you use a gear of 84-88 Gear inches for the group training activities.
Cost for the session will be £8
Track time will be approximately 4pm to 6:30pm
Riders can move within groups (at coaches discretion) and fast learning novices may be asked to join the elite/experienced group, all newly inducted riders will ride in the novice group unless instructed otherwise by the coaches.

Schedule is as follows, but may change to suit session constraints as we go.

    1545 bike hire

    1600 elite warm up/novice briefing

    1610 novice induction

    1620 elite black line tempo

you could always say that you're 'focusing on technique' :)

  • Looks like I'll be hiring a bike because Royal Fucking Fail have decided to strike again so my bits are stuck in the post ether - dont spose anyone has got some track grips and a 14T cog I could borrow?
I already haz bars but they iz bare.

I've got a set of taped track bars (well, road bars, but without brakes) you could borrow? 42cms wide I think?

  • Do you need a 1/8" or 3/32" cog Clefty?

  • sorry should have said 1/8"
Whats the clamp on those bars Caroline? might take you up on that

They're 26.0 mm, it's no problem to bring them along, let me know

  • that would be cool - much appreciated, as long as I can get hold of a 14T in time, otherwise I'll just use one of the hire bikes. I'll PM you either way before hand.
Just paging Jimbilly to see if he can sort me out

  • i has a 14t i wont use this weekend, your only difficulty is that the only time you cna pick it up is tomorrow morning, and the second problem is that you'll need to bring a chainwhip and lockring tool for me to use as i left my one at my parents house, fortunatly i live just off your commute. PM me if this might work, if not then good luck!

  • sorry should have said 1/8"

Shame as I've a 3/32" 14 tooth cog you could have borrowed. My 1/8" one is on my bike at HH so if you're really stuck turn up with a lock ring tool and a chain whip and you can borrow it (I intend to ride the Autumn Omnium event before your session).

moose now do cogs. went in and got a 15t fitted the other week. they are token alloy ones but seeing as it's only for the track you are not going to wear it out quickly.
