Hmm^. Tescos is good. But Asda do them in the Smart Price range, which might turn out cheaper.
Serioulsy though, there are about four trillion CPs in London. You'll get one then wish you had something else I reckon.

Yeah, i really wanted the Angus, but its just been ages, and no call. Went in there after about a month and they said the delivery was "imminent" and "any time now", but nothing :-(
I just dont want to go in there again and get the "oh no, not him again" treatment

Just spoke to Cavendish, and apparently alot of people have one on order, and they are genuinely waiting for them to come in still (alot of people have been asking "when is my frame coming in" recently i think, because the dude laughed at me, haha!).
I think i may hold it out, because ive got a feeling i will regret it if i dont. Waiting is painful though.

First time poster here.
This thread is great as I have been looking at getting my first bike and have been looking at the Charge Plug BUT I have been offerd a large frame and would I be right in saying this will be too big for me? I am 5'10. Or is it more down to personal feel? -
• #636
I am 5'11 and test rode both medium and large Plug Racers. I found the large frame suited me better. Picking it up this week
-
• #637
Thanks for the heads up I will have to go see if I can find a shop that has them in stock to test ride by the sound of it.
-
• #638
Volcom - my guess is that at 5'10" the Large would be a bit too big, unless you have a 33" inner-leg, with ape-arms or something. Trying it out is best of course.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. By the way I do have monkey arms but that is something else.

torn between the medium and large, I'm 6'. Don't live in London and none of the local dealers on the Charge site seem to be selling them anymore. Guess I will trawl the shops and see if I can get a test ride somewhere.
In the meantime anyone know the standover heights of the aforementioned sizes?
-
• #641
if you're torn, read the topic then.
oh standover heigh is bollocks, it's not a necessary measurement to know.

drags up old thread
I tried out a Plug medium on Saturday and while the bike was OK, my danglies were well and truely lodged on the top tube. I have a 29" inside leg when it comes to jeans, so I guess a small will do for me (I'm approx 5'6" and a bit).
Think I'm going to go with a Plug Freestyler though. I tested a normal Plug and a Mongoose Maurice, and the Maurice felt more comfortable/responsive! As a pose to the plug with it's bull horns. I hated the wheels enough on the Maurice (and the colour) to not want it though. After going up and down the street a few times the orange paint was wearing off the breaking surface (as you might expect). Not sure I'd want my nice new OTP to look shite within minutes of riding away from the shop.

You need a small at least although the frames do come up big and with a 29" leg you'll still be hanging your knackers on the top tube. The STL is quite big for a small (if that makes any sense whatsoever) at 56cm.
-
• #647
if this helps, i have 29" leg and ride XS charge plug and it feels good.
-
• #648
Thanks for the info :) That's made me think again. My LBS is pretty small, and has limited stock to try out unfortunately. Is the XS much shorter? Looks a good few CM difference between it and the M?
-
• #649
have a look here under frame geometry: http://www.chargebikes.com/products/bikes/detail.php?id=13 there is about 2-3 cm difference between STL sizes. You could be happy on an xs or a small but go to a bigger shop and have a try, there is nothing worse than having a frame that does'nt fit and you need to find out for yourself what you are comfortable with.

Got my Small plug freestyler last night and it's a good fit. Stand over isn't great, but I'm happy with it. TT length is about perfect for me.
Just checked, and they are all on there, ill have a breeze through the east this weekend and order some bits and bobs.
