was wondering whether anyone had a recommendation for replacement nuts for my plug. the reason is that someone (me) has rounded off one or two of the angles on my existing ones making taking my bike apart and vice versa a pain in the arse.
ideally same width (15mm?) on front and back - don't know if that is standard?simon

but seriously. take your nuts into wherever you want, lbs/condor/another. ask them for track nuts that match your size. job done.

I think the technical term is UR-nuts, so just ask for that.

Joined yesterday and this thread saved me a lot of hassle already with regard to Charge's sizing. Thank you.

Hi there,
I'm going to buy a new stem for my Plug, but I'd like it to remain almost parallel to the ground, like the old Charge one is. What rise do I need do I need to achieve this?
Thanks!

Are you looking for the actual silver Charge stem? I've got one you can have for a fiver if you want it.

mate, just flip the stem upside down.

I think he wants the same rise, just maybe a different length Ed. I thought the plug stems had about a 5% rise, thought not sure
-
• #612
he has a stem with rise but he wants one that is level.
try and flip before you buy anything. -

misunderstood, I think roughly 65 degrees, you could measure your own stem to find out the angle.

I was looking for a 90mm, -17 (or 73) deg rise Stem, to be precise. I'd like to get a plain one in black. If anyone has one lying about, of these measurements, and is willing to post, I'm happy to pay up.
For future ref: The Plug has stems of sizes 75, 90 and 100mm on the S,M and L respectively. All these have -17 (or 73) deg rise.

I might have a stem in that size... will check when i get home. Do you need a normal or OS size bar clamp?
-

Cheers Velo and Soul! Velo - looks like it might do the job. Soul - A 26.0 clamp would be ideal, as my bars take that.

Spoke to the guys in Cavendish about getting an IRO Angus, then doing a custom build, almost 3 months ago i think now, and have had no call back about the frame coming in and im almost past preying for.
I just want to get an off the peg now, as im going to be moving to London soon, and want to cycle to work (and im on the cycle to work scheme), so was wondering what shops in London regularly stock the Charge Plug?
I wouldnt mind getting it from a shop that has experience selling fixed bikes too, as im new to it all and want to know im getting a bike that has been put together by someone who knows what they are talking about, and so i can ask questions and get familiar with sizings etc (looked in a previous post, and was thinking maybe the medium? Im about 5,9 , so dont know if this is a bit too big?).
Cheers guys

Chain Reaction in E. London sell plugs, as do a couple of other shops around it (you can get plugs in LOADS of places in London...)
might be cheaper here though...:

If you're on Cycle To Work scheme, then you'll probably want to go to London Fields Cycles or Brick Lane Bikes, both of which stock the Plugs. Evans/Cycle Surgery isn't on that scheme I believe.

Cool, thanks guys. Just need to hit a shop, opposed to an online store so i can cycle scheme it.
Thanks for the help

Evans are deffo on the CTW scheme, some companies specify their employees must use Evans for CTW purchases too.

I think Cycle Surgery are on the cycle to work scheme.

evans do their own scheme, ride 2 work, your he dept will let you know which scheme they are signed up to.
the cycle to work scheme is a generic name for the different schemes, which all do the same thing, but the vouchers are administered by different companies.
sweet, see you there mate.
