  • I look forward to it. Here's a preemptive "I told you so" to save for later.

    another fuel for your fire, I ride with;

  • I'd already failed you on your IQ test, you can't get negatives so more fuel doesn't matter. Carry on.

  • The icing on the cake would be riding with aerospoke!

  • At least that's far less likely to fail than a tyre.

  • ah you boys, this is like playground again hehe

  • I have neither a Hot Wheels collection nor a Transformer. I'm afraid I don't see the similarity.

I would still go for the hyphenated 'pre-emptive'. You know, consecutive like vowels, and all that.

Unless you want to pronounce it like 'prime', although you know as well as I do, I'm saying that in the French/criterium sense of the word.

  • I have a good track pump at home and a shittish one at work with a mini pump in the bag.
This set up lead to me only using the mini pump a few times.
Although, I lost the fucker, so I may try a co2 one for the bag.

  • bought one from shamansburys the other day for £4.50! not up to loads but does have a PSI level meter and can do the trick!

  • That is a good pump yes, but it will take some work for someone of your size to get tyres to 120psi (no offence intended).
This is the mini version and is only a few quid more expensive than the one you linked:

Equally as good as mine if you get the technique right.

Right, I just brought that one, so fingers cross it's all groovy.
Whilst I was at home ordering this, my mum came home with a "track floor pump" from Lidls for £5.
It does the job and did make the front tyre from flat to hard (ooh-er!) I cant seem to close the cap on quick enough so I'm going to read the thread Hippy recommended last night.

  • I had one of the lidl ones for a year and it worked ok, doesn't like going above around 115psi but it's not bad for a fiver.

since your tyres went flat pretty quickly - it sound like you probably have a slow puncture.

  • Pumped up and sorted now. I just couldnt figure out how to stop the air escaping so quick between taking the pump off and the cap on.

  • Presta valve? You need to screw them back up (see that little bit on the end that spins?). Say NO to valve caps!

  • ah don't worry about that, it's perfectly normal for a quick hiss of air escaping when you pull off the pump, unless I've done it wrong.

Yeah that's them! Annoyed me to no end, I'm using the orginal tyres that came with gitane. How do I go about to changing them? I wrote on your wall for that how to pump up tyres thread..

The air was hissing dead fast enough to completely flatten the tyre!

  • There should be a short psst and that's it. If the tyre is completely deflating there's something wrong.

You were doing it too slow! You gotta be quick and sharp.

  • It was actually a thread about puncture repair, not inflation per se.

This guy uses Contis so take anything he says with a grain of salt..

I figured that out now, cheeky.

  • I feel embrassed that I didnt know how to, but I'm really grateful for the help. Thanks.

  • This thread was rubbish without a List. Its even better with a Lil.

    You're weird!

  • Pot. Kettle.

Body scarification, I do NOT have. Therefore, am I the one that's "weird"?

C'mon Lil, you're just very entertaining. ;) I'm sure nobody disagrees with that.
