Looks like On-One don't do their cheap track pumps any more.
You can get them for £10 but they'll be flexible and break far sooner than something good like a Silca. Pumps like this will do the job for a while though.

What did you do - ride around with a track pump in your bag?
we're in London, it's only a short walk to the nearest bike shop!

Not when you live in Ealing, ride anywhere after opening hours, spend your weekends riding as far away from London as possible and generally wouldn't rely on shops for a loan of tools.
Get a minipump first. Don't make me tell you again.

Or I stand in the doorway the next time you try to get into Condor..
You'd be like a junkie scrounging for that last bit of horse...

Conversely, people can buy a track pump, and keep their tyres at such a fucking stupidly high pressure, they end up getting loads of punctures. A little bit of squish is a good thing for so very many reasons.
Why am I even contributing to these hackneyed discussions? I don't even live there :S

I suspect the £5 Lidl pumps are all gone now but I'm happy with mine. You could see if they get any of those in again.
It's a lot lot easier than using my mini morph - tyres inflated in a few strokes, whereas with a mini pump (even a good one) you're pumping for a wee while.

Well, this lil hasnt been to lidls yet..

All of which are open 24/7?
Two points;
Get a mini pump first as it's a must to be self sufficient when it comes to punctures.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, take advice on anything tyre or puncture related from Ed. Ever.

Yep used one on my hol's, best mini-pump i've used. Gauge is quite hard to see, but it's quick, strong and small.

Often enough that we carry mini-pumps.
How often do you ride after 6pm? Or before 9am?
How often do you ride somewhere, ie. work, with a time schedule where walking to a bike shop hoping they have a pump to lend you would mess up said schedule?
If you only ever ride 200m from Condor then all power to you.. most of us don't.
I can't believe this is still going..

I ride at 12am in the middle of the night when heading back to Wimbledon actually.
don't worry, when I do get a puncture in the middle of the night heading home, you'll still get to cycle past me screaming "AH HAA!!' directly in my ears.

I look forward to it. Here's a preemptive "I told you so" to save for later.
