it's nice and near south polo though dude - you there later?

  • Looking pretty hip Benny, is it going to be SS or fixed- cos those tyres are shite if you skid!

Alright Greg, I was expecting a comment telling me to cut my bars down! ;)

Flip-flop...probably start off ss and then give fixed a go if I feel the burning desire. Hence front and rear brakes.

  • Slightly different setup, not permanent I don't think

  • ^ Eh? What happened to the 'spok?

  • Murtle's rockin' the double spok action?

  • Here is the Burls Ti track that I'm currently building up for my dad. It's still waiting on a new wheelset and he's also deciding whether to have the rear brake or not. Does anyone know how to stop the brake levers rattling if a cable isn't installed?

Probably my fave part of it is the sprocket/chainring/chain combo. It rolls so smoothly and silently. It's a combo of Dura Ace sprocket and c/ring with a KMC Ti-Nitride Track chain.

  • Lovely. I bet that's a great ride.

I've one of those chains at the moment and yes... they're smooth indeed.

  • What forks are these and where did they come from? I'm looking for some nice chrome forks like those :)

Picked my frame up from 14 on sunday. Ted did the track ends and armourtex the powdercoat.

I think I'll get the forks powdercoated black, was going to get some carbon ones, but the clearances on these are good.

I'm going to get some Ribble decals made up in black too.

The guy i got it off, Steve, is indeed a good fella and has a treasure chest of goodies hanging form the ceiling to admire..... got to thank Pistanator as well for holding onto his frame in case this fell through.. glad someone snapped that up

    Duuuude! Looks fuckin' sweeet!!

Thanks! It rides so, so smooth yet with plenty of stiffness when you apply the power!

The rear brake isn't yet installed as my dad was in 2 minds about it. Safety has prevailed however, and he's going to have it on there initially.

I'll get some new pics up with the new wheels when they come. Incidentally... The wheels I have ordered through hubjub about which I've heard good things so it'll be interesting to see what they're like. I know he outsources them, but ultimately they are responsible for quality!

  • ^ man your dad is gonna be stoked

They're actually alloy, not chrome. They are Kinesis 'Road D'.

  • @ arantrek - Lucky Dad!
@ dayno - Sweet, sweet ride

  • Duuuude! Looks fuckin' sweeet!!

Chewing gum or blue tac should do the trick. I ripped the internals out of mine but if you
might decide to use it that's prob not a great idea!

i did not bother to do anything with the spare brake lever on my bike. it rattles sometimes. a few people suggested glue or blue tack to stop the rattle

  • harrodstheodore beat me to it

  • you felling better now DJ?

  • All finished - the white tires are growing on me, but at some point will be replaced by gum walls.

Now saving up for fixed beater - thinking about 2nd hand fuji track... or maybe another road conversion as I like the geo.... but just enjoying this for the mo.

  • Max / Ved / Archi P:
