    or

    Anti-clockwise / dishonest:

Votes please by Saturday evening i.e. pre-recce.

  • @ BMMF that quiz is hilarious! can't stop laughing...

  • clockwise seems to buck the trend for TNRC routes but clockwise gets my vote. as long as it is doable fixed

  • @jonny - I fear it isn't, but Sunday will be a chance to test it. Sundridge Lane is one steep mofo.

  • The only way you'll get up Sundridge Hill is on <60GI.

  • then i vote ant-clockwise. i know that plenty of you like to show your gears off on this ride but for me the TNRC has always been about the fixed wheel. and i don't really fancy getting off and walking.

if honest wins the vote then i will bring out the gears or the polo bike. spin to fuckin win

  • Please bear in mind that on the clock route, at mile marker 13 there is now a right turn onto Tonbridge Road, followed by a left soon after. This has a danger level of "keep your wits about you". The junction is at the top of River Hill, some cars chug up it at 30mph, others like to see how fast they can hit the top, i.e. 60-70mph.

Oh, and it's a blind bend for whoever's turning right out of said junction, i.e. TNRC'ers.

Actually, scrap that, I can re-route it, although it will miss out descending Bayleys Hill. I'm going out on the piss now, I'll amend in the morning.

The length of the ride won't be affected.

  • I'd stick to 68" or 69.6" (depending on bike) because I don't want people to run away from me too much on the descents.

I imagine it'd be quite atmospheric walking up Sundridge at night...

  • Unless polo gears are adopted en masse, and then I might dust off a 20t and go for 59" (102rpm for cruising speed of 18mph).

  • fuck it. i am recasting my vote for honest. got to give it a go

That's sprint pace for me when I've have gears.

  • Sundridge Hill. Jebus...

Trust me to take the compact off last weekend!

  • i can't reccie this weekend but may go and find out what all the fuss is about next saturday.

  • The last time I rode it was before Hogtrough, but after Chalkpit Lane, White Lane (Titsey), and Brasted.

It didn't seem too bad (okay, I rode them all on 39x19). Brasted's the shocker.

  • It's an honest climb jonny, equivalent to Whitedown, aka The Widowmaker.

  • Brasted is more of a shocker than Chalkpit Lane? Jesus.

  • Brasted is fucking stupid.

We can all pop over and have a look at it after Sundridge Hill if you like, it's only up the road. Just look from the top mind, if we go down it we'll have to come back up it again.

  • It's an honest climb jonny, equivalent to Whitedown, aka The Widowmaker.

i vowed never to ride fixed on 71" up the widowmaker ever again. not much fun. but doable. i guess we shall find out soon enough.

  • I've vowed never to do Swains Lane on 95.5" again. I felt like I was captured in a series of photographs for most of it.
