I've posted up this on a few other forums too, more eyes peeled and that. I'm fucking livid as it's my first bike and it's taken months to build up.

Thanks Marti. I'm not a violent man, but if I see the fucking shitehawk that stole it they can expect a kicking.
I wish it was Sunday so I can get down Brick Lane now and try to find it. -

Oh man, that massively sucks, so sorry to hear about this. Could you shed any more light on the situation, locks used, how long it was left for and so on. Can't believe the amount of scum out there sometimes. Bastards. Absolute bastards. My eyes are peeled.

This is what is most frustrating. I lent it to my cousin as his bike broke and he was late for work. I asked if he had locks, he said he had two so I thought it'd be safe. Then he rings about an hour ago saying that the locks (don't know what kind) had been cut, the other bike it was with was still there but mine was gone. Don't think it had been left more than a few hours. It's not his fault, and he's probably more angry and upset about it than I am.
Thing is, it'd be no different than if I had locked it up. I'm kinda glad that I didn't actually see the empty spot where it was.

Bollocks. I work there, will keep my eyes peeled. There's some right dodgy kids about but this sounds like a 'pro' job if they went through 2 locks.

Nice one, thanks Kam

honestly mate, for all you know they could be £10 lock/chain, it's a sad state of affair that you'd need at least £100-150 worth of locks (two) just to keep it safe in East London, the trendy part.
sorry about your bike getting nicked thought, such a shitty feeling.

My bike got stolen tonight as well...
Chrome Kiyo fixie with dura-ace seatpost, nitto 90 stem, sugino crankset, ambrosio rims, gatorskin tyres, black strong-v grips and black double leather straps on cages. Frame roughly 49".
Was taken outside bistroteque in hackney.
Will buy back from anyone who can get their hands on it!
Thanks, and most sympathy my fellow victim! -

I live very close by. Will keep an eye out for it.
-
• #16
Thanks Marble.
Am off to the police now to report it, stick up a few posters, etc. -
• #17
im allways in Dalston i will keep an eye out for it hope you get it back
-
• #18
Really appreciate all these extra eyes looking out for it.
Anyone got any other suggestions as to where this might turn up, other than Gumtree, ebay and Brick Lane? -
• #19
I'm afraid you just can't lock your bike up outside in that area anymore. I did and mine got stolen too. Apparently there is a lad called Carl who I've been told on good authority is to blame for a lot of the stuff that goes missing around there.
-
• #20
Got any more info on this Carl fella? Why are they always called Carl or Darryl?
Apols if thats your name and you're innocent. -
• #21
Dude that sucks man, when you put so much time and effort into something and some thieving low-life layabout cunt takes it, good luck with getting it back.
On a side note, if we could find out what locks as well that'd be really useful info, also never lend your bike to anyone who's going to take it out of your sight (unless its a beater you don't give a shit about), ever, even if they are a friend etc, not sure what locks you have at the moment but to prevent this sort of thing happening again kit yourself up with some heavy duty shit to make it as difficult as possible for these fuckers, and try to avoid leaving it locked up for any period of time. -
• #22
Gutted for ya mate, don't worry about it though he can't move it on fleabay/scumtree with everyone searching, you'll get it back soon enough dude.
There's no worse feeling when you get a bike robbed, my mate once robbed mine outside the local shop for a fuckin joke and made me sweat for like 5 minutes, so I got the fucker back 2 weeks later by robbing his lemond racer outside the post office he goes to and when i came back round the corner with it he was crying!!
Didn't speak to me for 2 days....
-
• #23
the fuckers. really cant leave your bike round there can you? I came back to my bike to find the DA cranks and bottom bracket missing, and its not like you can just use a standard bb tool either....
-
• #24
Fucking shithole area. Sorry about your bike.
