Have fun tomorrow you hardnuts.
With regards to the recent problems with train space recently, have you considered making a route that doesn't involve trains? Or maybe using tubes, even, from where they come up overground to the end, to cut out the suburbs?
I'm thinkng the beginning of the Southend ride could be adapted to be a circuit, either from Grange Hill tube or just riding out from the smoke ...

TNRC - North Downs ride : Tuesday 14th July 2009
The train to catch departs London Victoria 19:09. The usual early meet to obtain tickets, and to hopefully grab a good spot on the train as soon as it arrives from it's inward journey will be required. somewhere between platforms 1-7, these are on the far left hand side of the station as you enter.
Arrival in sunny St Mary Cray is scheduled for 19:35.
With that in mind, the return trains to London look something like this:
St Mary Cray-Victoria
22:07-22:32
22:26-23:03
22:47-23:14
22:56-23:23- Clintsmoker (train out)
- jonny
- Shootthebreeze (no pulled muscles from standing up this time i hope)
- miss tiks [train out]
- mrs marcom (victoria)
- Sam (will meet everyone at St Mary Cray)
- mikec (Liking the sound of this one. Is there a map?)
- mashton (victoria) - but I am flaky, you know. btw, last week I was in Copenhagen, apologies.
- Sasmon (Victoria)
- dave4 (If I can get to the station in time)
- balmain
- Aleksi
- wools
all looking good. if train is busy we can send more on the next train and the others wait for 15 mins. there is no time issue here. we made it back last time in london before 11pm.
- had a puncture late last night and didn't have my pump so i locked up near work and.......some scroat nicked my front wheel off the fixie. they left the rear wheel because it was punctured. anyone got a half decent front wheel for sale?
- Clintsmoker (train out)

@ skully - all routes are welcomed skully and the train is not essential ;) have ideas for essex but need to run it through for the westys who will need to be able to get home at a decent hour. the tube is okay above ground and after 7 but when 20 plus riders turn up anywhere it is going to set hairs on necks prickling.
we've thought about more than one train and just all riding out together. each ride will have to take it's own shape and form. as usual all suggestions are welcome.- it is important to write your name down on the list and not just turn up for this reason alone. if we have an exact idea of the number of riders we can plan for it.
- hope to see you soon skully and that you are doing good and looking good :)

i would love to start coming out on some TNRC excurtions.... i've been getting a fair few miles in since the DD, and i've caught the bug. i think i'm ready to fully embrace my inner roadie.
i don't think i can make it this week though.
will i be frowned upon for riding geared?..... i don't think my lo-pro is a suitable hill-riding machine.
-
• #1882
i am going geared to this one. i think that it depends on the ride. Tim is always geared as is Des

• #1883
I am afraid I won't make it tomorrow but will be back in two weeks time. Have a hassle free journey and a good ride.

^ Second hardest ride after surrey hills IMO^
In order of difficulty:
Surrey Hills
Kent
Chilterns
RoydonAm I missing one....!?!
-
• #1886
Do it Rob. A lot of folk ride them geared, it's about enjoying night riding regardless of your drivetrain.
I've only ridden this and the Surrey Hills rides but this one isn't as hard as the Surrey Hills, although it has the hardest single climb of the two.

@ ALL - thinking of sending half of us to cannon street to catch the 19:06 to orpington. then those lucky few can ride the 2 miles to st mary cray and hook up with everyone else. cannon street would be easier for me as i'm eastside. I have suggested Jonny , shoots, mashton, dave4. aleksi for cannon street because they are possibles, flakey or just new. if jonny, shoots can't make it because of tiredness, illness and mashton burns his ass on the carpet - it'll mean the train is empty and i can just roll down with dave4 and alex. Everyone pm me soon as if this is not a good idea.
the rest of you carry on down to victoria and we'll see you at st mary cray station. - Clintsmoker (train out cannon street)

IS EVERYONE CLEAR ON WHAT THEY NEED TO DO TOMORROW?
@bmmf - you still knackered after DD?

Good idea, Tim. Gotta love the Kent route for ease of accessibility :0)
I don't know what to do for tomorrow. I'm just coming out from a bad flu, and now I'm not very bad but I'm not good as well.
I decided to take the bike, go in north london, have a good sweat, and see how I'll wake up tomorrow.
