  • Jinx!

haha! im not speaking im typing.....

  • Damn!

  • Was verstehen Sie darunter?

    ja ja sehr gut

  • As they say, don't slag it off until you've tried it (then slag it off).

It is the world's lightest electric bike (Jason Bradbury of the Gadget Show loved it, he's a single speed fan) see pics - http://www.cytronex.com/Photos.html

We produce the Cytronex electric bike system (http://www.cytronex.com) which was launched last year, and as I like single speed bikes we tried fitting a special system to a Genesis Day One - http://www.moderntimesltd.com/product.asp?s=9tpxcn117379&strParents=&CAT_ID=19&P_ID=162 and was so impressed we put it into production and then added the Capo, which at 13.6Kg has a superb power to weight ratio.

Basically it has all the benefits of single speed but gets you up to optimum speed fast and climbs respectable hills at 15mph. See - http://www.moderntimesltd.com/product.asp?s=9tpxcn117379&strParents=&CAT_ID=19&P_ID=161. Basically, nobody will beat you away from the traffic lights and you can ride steep hills at an efficient cadence. You just start pedalling then it takes off, adding 250W to your own power, whatever pace you are doing it pushes a bit harder.

    1. Who the fuck on this forum wants an electric bike aid?
    2. Why the fuck would you put one on a paired down SS bike?
    3. no fucking own bikes in the porn thread, esp if they look like some 2 bit electricians assistant has had a minor seizure whilst assembling it?
    4. SPAM!

    I've killed for less.

  • Damn!

    yer but still

  • Fail . . .Moi?

  • no I was going to put up a highfive picture but thought that would be funnier

  • I cannot stand stems that point upwards attached to drops, it's just SO wrong!!

-10 deg and the stem would be nice and horisontal and look way better. (IMHO)

    never watch track racing then

    good find Haj

you just found me a new background ;)

  • Snap! hahaha

Modern track bike set up is all about upward sloping stems on short head tubes, as it is the stiffest, lightest and most aerodynamically efficient way to get from the fork crown to the centre of the drops. As long as the saddle to bar drop is still substantial, it's just as porn as old skool long head tube/drop stem arrangements.

  • beautiful bike. I did have a double take, seeing how close the clearance was and noticed there wasn't a seat tube as such! then I checked out the skinny forks! mental

  • i want those sirrocos!

  • love that FES, what on earth is the GI of that thing? the skinny forks kinda look wierd with the fat tubed body but i love it.

  • those fes was ridden from a dude (I've heard). fes build track bikes in the gdr for the sprinters, all are handmade and especially builded for each rider.

The geek in me respects the engineering that must have gone into this thing, and I praise you for having actually gone out there and produced an electric bike that doesn't look like some kind of special person's happy moped, but... ...you won't find many takers on here.

"Basically, nobody will beat you away from the traffic lights and you can ride steep hills at an efficient cadence"

For most of us, part of the fun of cycling is challenging oneself, pushing on up that hill, or digging in for that sprint off from the lights. Pitching yourself and your bike and body against either your own limits, or those of other riders. This is... well, cheating. In a sort of nasty underhand way, because its trying to look like a "rad" singlespeed. It's obviously not aimed at the mobility sector, but at the city twat who weants to have "the edge" around town, or "do" Ditchling Beacon. Total load of cack - just HTFU. And its very readers wives, and definitely not bike porn. Basically, wot Eyebrows said, but with less swear words.

Yes, I have got Jens Fiedler's old FES frame. Very similar to the one in the picture, but mine has a down tube. All I can say is that IT IS STIFF, although still manageable on London Roads. Unlike most road carbon frames that have a slightly plastic-y sound when you tap them, this sounds like it is near solid.

  • fully sick!

you ride these awesome original with history on the road????

  • It is not trying to cheat you, it looks good because it has to in order to have a serious chance of getting people out of cars.

But is it bike porn? Well as you point out, it is most definately ebike porn!

    All the best,

    Mark

Aside from the fact that most of us on here ride Fixed gear bikes for which this application is utterly irrelevant, the ECAPO doesnt look good, but looks like the aftermath of a Cannondale crashing into a Maplins.

You say its been on Channel 5 - well that's because its to bicycles what Channel 5 is to TV - irrelevant, unnecessary, and a waste of money

I am sorry if this is harsh, but you have come on here, posted your POS in bike porn, and then explained it is the best thing since sliced bread, when in fact all thats needed to get people onto bikes is a dose of HTFU

  • Regarding the Cytronix thing...for what it's intended purpose is i'd say it's the best design i've seen.
It's all too easy to slag it off on here cos it's not a super stripped down loooking bike...but it's not exactly obtrusive either.
He's clearly not aiming it at us guys, simply showing it off.
For anybody who does like the idea of an electric bike it looks the best solution by far.

I personally have no need to use an electric bike, but i'd still be interested to try one out for myself.
As Mark has said, if it gets more people on bikes then it's a good thing.
Maybe some of you guys are just worried you're gonna get burned at the lights by some 'city twat'.
    :)
