  • Itll be shit, just like any big company doing a warehouse sale. Its just a publicity stunt to get people down to buy normal-ish priced stuff.

There will be a couple bargains for the people who camp over night, just to make the rest of the people in the que think evans really did put out some good stuff. Its a classic retail marketing exercise, evans are the most corporately strategised company ever. They plan everything to the last micro-pence.

  • last year i managed a new campag record front brake caliper for £25. i was happy about it.

    don't forget to haggle.

  • got a ride to work voucher for evans coming next few days, figure they won't take them

  • Is anyone going to this? Was chatting to the one with the black foot and mentioned he might go down and buy a helmet for cheaps so we don't get track-aids from the borrowed lids at HH. I'm up for driving or possibly riding down there if anyone else is up for it??? It's in Crawley.

It starts Saturday and that's when I'm wanting to go, early-bird and all that.

    List please.

  • dov I'm going to have to make my own way there, going to be riding to cambridge on the saturday, but let me know how deep the selection is...

  • Ok, I could grab you one if they have any in XXL

    ;-)

  • Damn I'll be working on Saturday, not that I need anything but it would have been nice to see some forumengers.

  • Interesting....might have a look at this.

  • went along this arvo, wasn't that amazing deal wise helped me out though because they had all the sizes of all clearance lines in at one time.

And took my ride to work vouchers which was good too..

  • Went earlier. Got a lid for just over half price. Scott Fuga Road £90 down to £40. Also bought a big fuck-off lock...

    for locking things.

  • utfs

  • 3rd thread on the matter, people have been. was not great.

  • thanks

  • worst sale ever..
nothing of worth except for specialized tubes for £2.
no italian bikes, a bianchi pista frame for 120 (no forks). a dura ace crank for 200..

  • absolutly shit, drove there thinking there was gonna be loads of cheap stuff, and guess what there was loads stuff with about £5 off... i bought a specialized airforce 3 helmet for £17 quid which is ok but was hoping to buy much more...

I actually looked at stuff i wanted then searched on net on my phone and found most things were cheaper off the internet... friend bought some cycling shorts for 30 quid which were dowen from 45... other than that all the other stuff was wank...

  • same as last year then. I'm glad I decided to stay in bed Saturday morning now

  • yeh nothing doing there

  • Went earlier. Got a lid for just over half price. Scott Fuga Road £90 down to £40. Also bought a big fuck-off lock...

    for locking things.

lots of locks there? looking for kryptonite new york or evolution stuff. u remember seeing any? or more like MASSIVE chain locks etc etc

  • I didn't go. I don't need any warehouses.

  • Another one of these through TfL, no minimum spend but excluding Specialized and Trek bikes. So you can't buy a Langster.

  • Fuck Evans

    Yeah man, screw that chump!

  • Hmmm I understand they're thinking of including Cadel's cleft chin as a mountain stage in next years TdF....seems a little challenging to me.
