I like the silver-and-black effect on both the saddle and bars.
Haha thanks, entirely unintentional because me and mr jtautzdavis shared a roll of bar tape and I used the saddle off my old mountain bike. I mean, thanks, took me ages to find a saddle with just the right shade of grey and I only taped half the bars for aerodynamic reasons.

Just for the record, riding fixed probably strengthens the muscles on both sides of your joints, making you *less *susceptible to joint damage. Read Sheldon.
I live in London and have noticed, as I ride through the city on my geared racer of on my motorcycle, the large number of saddo fashion followers riding fixed gear or single speed fashion statement pseudo-track bikes.
I usually shout 'Get some gears you twat' or 'They make gears for bikes nowadays you know'.
Has it not occurred to any of these people that frequently pedalling at the wrong cadence, using excessive pedal pressure and generally straining in thew wrong gear, does serious knee joint, tendon, ligament, cartilage and muscle damage?
I think in a few years we shall see a significant rise in strain injuries leading to damaged joints, early onset arthritis etc.

(and if your not - sometimes hard to tell here - I love you any way)no i'm serious, I love those little nippers. My gf has one that is totally fucked and I'm definitely going to make it fixed. Was thinking on suiciding some mag wheels, just for giggles and poops, but not sure yet...
fucking ace man, fucking ace- does the folding mech still work, cos if so, I'm even more impressed.I realised I've sworn alot just now, but fuck it, tomorrows May Day and in Oxford that only means 1 thing. getting drunk all night

Thanks again, the mags sound good. I bought it new and it all works and fold very small. with the wheels off and stacked on top it fits in a medium sized hard suit case - flying to London with it in 2 weeks.
Have a great May day don't hold back cause of me!

This is my Colnago Technos, bought new in 1996.
Anyone who tells me this is 'just a bike' is going to get a good hard virtual slap.My face remains the same mish-mash of ill-assorted parts.

Here is something for everyone to take the piss out of... but to be fair reserve final judgement until I'm in London week of May 12 and give me a handicap for weight, age and 70" gear and try to keep up. Please say hi I'm hard to miss (I hear huge belly laughs as I go by very often).
and lol if you take me up on it - for beers!
Could you not get a smaller front wheel to have it true lo-pro stylee?

Lovely, but what have you got against valve-caps?
Nothing. But for some reason my church won't allow them.

So I've finally finished the Mercian, with help from Dale, cheers dude.
Looking forward to some long rides to test it - anyone fancy heading to Oxford soon?

Short answer Yes! I am still working on it (paint fork, shorten brake cable, etc). Thanks for the suggestion I had only thought to make up a lighter front wheel cause this one is way over built.
