That's a classic Anti Porn image. Wrong, totally wrong

Simple physics says no. Hard braking on the front wheel = face plant long before you get to skidding on any normal road surface, wet or dry.
I guess you could do it on ice...

you can skid the front tire on wet surface.. (to a certain point recoverable ) or dry covered with some gravel..
Anyway. Verbs & Nouns I kinda get what you are trying to communicate to me but... its not my bike, I just wanted to find out who's bike is that and who is using nickname "Hudstaar" on velospace

I live in London and have noticed, as I ride through the city on my geared racer of on my motorcycle, the large number of saddo fashion followers riding fixed gear or single speed fashion statement pseudo-track bikes.
I usually shout 'Get some gears you twat' or 'They make gears for bikes nowadays you know'.
Has it not occurred to any of these people that frequently pedalling at the wrong cadence, using excessive pedal pressure and generally straining in thew wrong gear, does serious knee joint, tendon, ligament, cartilage and muscle damage?
I think in a few years we shall see a significant rise in strain injuries leading to damaged joints, early onset arthritis etc.

a doctor etcHas it not occurred to you that riding fixed may be really god fun? or, really good for getting a better cadence for when one gets back on the geared bike for longer rides? Do you also sit a Hern Hill shouting 'Get some gears you twat' at the chaps riding round the track? Would you say that to Chris Hoy?
Why have you come on here just to start some greif? We are (genraly) nice people who enjoy riding our bikes. What is your problem with that? Get a fixed gear, see whet the fuss is about. It may make you less bitter. -

Actually he's quite right on the latter, I was told similar thing by a doctor if riding at a very high gear ratio (such as 48/16) for a prolonged time.
Obviously the first part is just usually rubbish.

do people like slim not realise that riding fixed is not all about fashion and alot to do with simplicity and low-maintanence? ive ridden bikes for years and gears and brakes are the fucking bane of my life constantly breaking and needing fixed. im not saying i dont ride geared bikes and certainly wouldnt be without my brakes on for example my downhill bike. but its great to be able to take the fixed bike out, it never fuckin breaks, i have to change a tyre every now and again and i needent worry about untangling cables after double b's...

I feel very fashionable when I'm riding my bike, it makes me fire off hot jets of happy-foam all over the road at great risk to other cyclists!! LOL

Here is something for everyone to take the piss out of... but to be fair reserve final judgement until I'm in London week of May 12 and give me a handicap for weight, age and 70" gear and try to keep up. Please say hi I'm hard to miss (I hear huge belly laughs as I go by very often).
and lol if you take me up on it - for beers!
