  • all that info is on the fuji track official website

  • Ta, sounds like the frame will be a wee bit tight for me, then.

I've had my Fuji powder coated, with Campag cranks, Phils on CXP33s and comfy risers. I got it done a month or two before I had to come to Newcastle for four months with work, and couldn't bring it with me. I get back in five weeks and I'm not going to get off it for the first five weeks after that. There is no way I'm going to sell it, sorry.

The possible-purchase is for a geared bike for some fast touring this summer. If I can get the right bike built up, I'm away for a while... I just need a nice 60x60ish frame to come up on the 'Bay.

  • I can't see the 2007 sizes anywhere. Do you know where they are?

  • Hi All, i'm going to buy a Fuji Track i'm 5ft 8" with a inside leg of 30.5" would i be better with a 52cm or a 54cm frame?

    Ta

  • I know someone on here about the same height as you, he's got a 54" and loves it.
I'm a couple of inches taller (5'10") and also have a 54", it's fine for me too, but I could have got either a 54 or 56 and still been happy.

I've swapped the 110mm stem for a 90mm, the 110 felt too stretched out when riding more than a few miles.

  • I'm the same height at ChrisNW and ride a 54cm. Get a 52cm because your reach is reduced and it's a bit lighter.

  • 1st stage upgrades:
    38cm drop bars
    vai stem
    White Vittoria Rubino Pro Tyres
    Shimano Ultegra Brakes
    BBB Anatomic Saddle
Electrical Taped Top Tube (to see what its like in black before powder coating...)

rest is stock. no money left.

  • Do your hands not hurt when riding? I'd imagine a lot of weight is being put on them. with that saddle setup.

  • not really.. i guess i must be abnormally shaped

  • 1st stage upgrades:
Electrical Taped Top Tube (to see what its like in black before powder coating...)

Wise upgrade, the stock electrical tape on the Fuji Track is awful.

  • Does anyone know where they stock these in london? As in have them build and will let you test them? I want to get one but am unsure what size to buy.. ta

  • evans should stock. got mine in westend store, rathbone place.
theres a road bike specific store in waterloo. i'd say thats ur best bet. call first?
if u buy, dont forget they do pricematching

  • I tried the one in waterloo and he was a grumpy sod actually, said that it wasn't worth it, i'd need to buy a brake etc, plus they had none made up, "maybe i got one somewhere in a box".. do they price match to internet sites or does it have to have a store?

    Cheers

  • yea price match to internet shops, but they have to have it in stock on the day you buy.
my salesman had to phone up the store.
get a brake from forum and its 'worth it'. got my track for £276 (biddle site) + £40 for tecktro brakes. Still cheaper than pretty much everything out there.

  • Did you do the paint job yourself or get it powder coated? What about stripping the paint off? I'm new here and I know there are threads about stripping paint, just wandering if there is anyone here who has stripped a fuji track themselves, and if so, how? Your bike looks minty fresh by the way.

  • The paint finish on them is pretty tough - I had cause to sand mine a bit to make sure my spray paint stencilling stuck. Not something I'd want to remove myself, but if you wanted to rattlecan it the stock paint would make a dandy basecoat as it's slightly matte.

  • MTB riser bars, new grips, new pedals, cages and straps, new chain, new sprocket, new rear wheel (when I'd trashed the stock one) new saddle, spahettihoops dangler and hipster framepad.

  • Hmm, just went to the one @rathbone place, the guy was very helpful and chatty, but he reckons there will be no fuji tracks at evans stores until mid may. Tempted by the 2008 model from winstanleys at ~295, but without being able to try for size am dubious. I am usually a 56 road bike (and a 56 for a pinnacle bachelor no1..) but I guess a track bike is a different kettle of fish

Mines a 56. You can come have a try on it in old street or southbank if you want.

  • Yeah that would be very useful actually. I'll write u a pm

  • Hi, new come here
been following the forum for a while now, really useful stuff!

does anyone know where i can still find a 52cm fuji track 2008 in london?
do they still have it in BLB? they are sold out on every online shop i've visited(some have every size but mine)

    Cheers

  • Call Evans Spitafields, I think I saw a 52cm one there.

A couple of weeks ago they had a 54cm there. Not sure if it is still available.

  • I've got a stock 2008 Fuji Track and somehow i've buggered something on the rear hub!!
I was out riding, did a skip stop and heard a loud noise like a chain snapping, looked down and all seemed good, as i started to pedal again, it took a split second for the chain to re-engage the rear wheel as if it was tightening up the cog/sprocket!!
This has happened a couple of times since and i can't get my bike booked into a shop for a check until the 20th of may because all the shops in Aberdeen are too busy :s!! Before i go out and buy a lockring remover or a new hub, has anyone got any ideas of whats gone wrong?! Or if this has happend to their fuji's?!
