I will definitely be out on the sunday guys, I was speaking to john at 14 and the frame gus is currently riding is going to be made out of fillet brazed T45 steel, both the frame and forks apparently, gussets and strengthening everywhere, possibly the ultimate trick frame..... I've started saving already!
Orly.
Ive started saving for the new cutter, the raw one. Its tasty, I will have to take a peek at this 14&co frame before i actually invest however. -

the forks aren't fillet brazed T45
it handles really nicely, though it still is being tweaked design-wise
will be super-radical

Any chance of some pics of mah new forks ^_^

bah, bikes are made to be broken anyhow...
-
• #308
if you're frame aint crackin, and you aint stackin, then boy, yo' bitch ass is slackin...
-
• #309
Gnnn ... I can't bear the thought that this is going to show up in the 'bike destroyer' thread sometime soon ...
hah..easily..
the drop outs already snapped and have been welded once... -

James, how much did you pay for the Swobo frameset?

I paid about 220-230 for it, but I think chain reaction or stif are doing them now in discount for £175 for the frameset.

Yeah not at present, apparently he said the current prototype is all 4130 cromo, and they can get the frame done in T45 no problem, but are still trying to get things sorted with the forks said its a bit of a hassle or something, but they should be T45 as well assuming everything goes ok! That was the gist of it if I remember correctly.

ah thank, a bit much, might as well go for an IRO frame instead as an beater!

Its tasty, I will have to take a peek at this 14&co frame before i actually invest however.Cutter is very nice, however....The new 14 frame is gonna be a notch above I reckon, imagine the first proper fixed trick frame built to take the abuse of bmx type tricks, gussets in all the right places etc, it looks and feels beefy as fuck, but doesn't seem all that heavy?

They're at the workshop seeing as that's closest to wherever I'm likely to be meeting you. I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow.
I may have sorted out a cheap frame. There's some company on Ebay that have a load of old Saracen mtb cromo frames that they put horizontals on and sell for £50! One of the guys at TrixieDix was talking about them on Tues.

^^Sounds awesome! I'm curious as to what the frame looks like. Could be a great beater.
-
• #321
yeah I remember, MTB have big clearance which would mean an 700c wheel shouldn't be a problem to fit beside the 135 rear spacing.
-
• #322
^^Do they bend the dropouts to 120mm?

I dont care that much about weight, but i do want the chainstay's and bb shell to be reinforced stupid amounts for grinds.
-
• #324
^^^Could get a plate welded on, but like how the trials bikes have that massive protector plate bolted on.

Come down to tuesday night trix and see if you can get a look at Gus's bike, the frame is heavily reinforced throughout and looks awesome, don't think there are any kind of grind plates on the chainstays but T45 is very tough.....tougher than 4130 cromo, way tougher!
