  • Its amazing what a few beers can do to cheer you up!

    I think it was just the fact that a girl was talking to you! :-P

    Oh also, on those new volume forks, they won't be around for a couple months so don't hold your breath guys.

    And how much will they be?! Stop trying to be a weight freak. The heavier the bike, the stronger the rider.

  • That is plain amazing.

  • See if I was going to do something like that then I'd definitely take the BMX out, but it is pretty amazing and impressive. Although, why are they showing a snapped chain when he was grinding on the other side?!

    I'm hoping we can have a wallride session tomorrow morning, who's up for it? I may well have to be on my BMX due to not having a backwheel on my fixed. I'm going to attempt to re-build my wheel with a spare rim, but I could really do with a proper strong wheel!

  • Come on guys, what's wrong with you? Phil, Klye, James? I'd better not be a loner on my first weekend in London for about 6 weeks!

  • is that coffe he is throwing on the hubba?

  • umm yea ill probs come, i just put on my drops though, but ill put my risers back on

  • Yeah i'm up for this, lets move this talk over to the soutbank sessions thread though over in rides and races so its obvious to anyone else that wants to join in.

  • Pretty sick though....that guy busting out a crank grind down a hubba, loving the fixed/bmx crossover there.

  • how long before someone sticks pegs on a track bike?

  • Pretty sure thats already been done

  • See if I was going to do something like that then I'd definitely take the BMX out, but it is pretty amazing and impressive. Although, why are they showing a snapped chain when he was grinding on the other side?!

    and a bend saddle, methinks it just there to show how 'hardcore' it is, like showing massive cut on your arm to show how difficulty the trick is, when you only got it from falling over a grandmother and her cucumber scratched your arm.

  • Are you talking about something else now Ed?! ;-)

  • What I want to know Ed is what your grandmother is doing with a cucumber in the first place.... the naughty naughty girl.

  • Never mind the cucumber, I didn't take the photo but I did see the same bloke around London;

    At first, I thought it was simply those big BMX with 24" wheels, but closer inspection it turn out to be a fixed wheel bicycles, 700c (or 650c?) rear and 24" front with a BMX style frame.

    I've never seen anything like that, but I can imaging it be a decent bike for tricking.

  • Thanks to Marco Pepperoni and Andy Pancake I now have a complete bike again!

    Here's the wheel that Andy sold me. Nicely built by him. Lovely wheel with a great anodised red DP 18 rim:

    Here is the frame (and a few added extras, including a 175 driveside crank and a 170 left side crank!) after I'd just got back from picking it up from Marco's house. Time - midnight (ish):

    And here's the final build some 3-3.5 hours later:

    I don't think the image actually does it justice. I'm really liking the look of it, but tomorrow will tell me whether I like the ride or not. The stem wouldn't come lose, so it's not set up for barspins yet, then just as I was finishing up I managed to get the stem lose! Never mind, I might keep it like this for the drag race then set it up for tricks after.

  • I think for now, it's best not to do barspinning, after all that should encourage you to try and focus on other skill to master!

  • You're up late aren't you?!

  • trying to finish writing an essay, nearly there thought, mostly because I spend 4 hours trying to fit inner tube that's slighty bigger than the tyres on.

  • I spent less time building a whole bike!

  • yeah, tyres said it's 28c, but realistically it's 25c inside, hence ill-fitting the inner tube! thank fuck I got the inner tube on a buy one get one free option at my LBS.

  • Never mind the cucumber, I didn't take the photo but I did see the same bloke around London;

    i ran my charge stove 26" jump bike like this for a few months b4 i sold it. bmx or 26" frames are fuckin heavy, especially the forks. everyone said that the 28 look like 25's especially on a normal rim.

  • Phil, new bike looks awesome mate! gutted I couldn't make it last night dude, I was still in chelsea until 10:00pm lol!

  • Gnnn ... I can't bear the thought that this is going to show up in the 'bike destroyer' thread sometime soon ...

    Well you'll just have to make sure you're out this weekend!

    I've got to pick up the lockring from 14co at lunch so do you fancy Brick Lane Beigel for lunch?

  • So you're running different sized cranks?
    Crazy ^_^
    Nice to know you're up and running so quick though!
