• 'The Forum' already owns one, but I guess it dissolved somewhere along the line because no-one knows what happened to it.

Maybe, just maybe the forum bike is being loved by someone? It's a bit of a tradision in england to fafour the under-dog.

Got some bits to put on mine (may as well use them untill I get my Mercian sorted) An ITM stem Sugino Mighty crank, a Shimano 105 front brake, some pedals with a spd clip one one side and flat on the other (Bike Hut specials I think) and I have some ITM carbon forks but I'm undecided about fitting them. None of it's top-end stuff but I suppose just about anything is an upgrade on a unipack. Got to get a bottom bracket and a back wheel too.

    Pitty The Unipack.

  • I fell victim to cheap appeal of the uni-cack, but I didn't know what I was getting myself into. The chain broke ten minuets into my first ride. But I've got a new bike now, I can leave the unipack behind me.

  • amen to that

  • also unipack?

my mate at work bought one for £150 after his good bike was stolen, pretty heavy but he says it's ok, though he did have to move the chainring to the inside of the crankarm to get a straight chainline...

  • has Crrhis shrac got a visa and an new identity?

  • Still achingly boring. I'm off to the bike porn thread!

  • I like it.

  • In all fairness, it does look a lots better than the unipack and probably better made, it all boil down to see whether it's actually decent or not.

if it is, then we have a winner, a simple bike that people just want to go around town with.

  • watch this space i suppose.... you're right, if it works it works. if anyone buys one, i will be intrigued.

  • I would defintely buy one if it reasonably decent, or decent with a few tweaking.

it make a great pub bike too.
