I've heard there are a couple of nasty 50+% ascents at each end of the track...

Really enjoyed this morning, nice to meet you all and put some faces to names I will say again you are a great bunch to ride with. I am now cooking my sausages from Borough and they smell lovely.

Now I know what that clicking sound from my bike was. Lifted the bike of the ground, spun the cranks and lo-and-behold, the chain snaps and goes flying across the garden! Thank god it didn't happen while I was on it, going down a steep hill!
Chain was a KMC one, meant to be really though, but I have only had it 7 months! Oh well, I have a lovely Vertex NJS thing that I can put on now

I wonder if it was struck by something as we rode up the Farringdon Road. There some so nasty metalic crap around.

Blimey I am not going to ignore any odd sounds coming from the bike again, well done for sorting it out and preparing for a dinner party at the same time you multitasker you!

Proof!
http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/.........
I was always sure it was only 45, its just because the tracks so short it looks steep - that's why its so hard to hold the bike down at speed. Ghent is about the same length and that's about 60 degrees, but obviously you cant have beginners sessions on that.

Nah, you're just mixing it up with something else.

Yes it may well have been. The new chain is nice and smooth. Makes a bit of a noise though

i'll be in the park doing some laps with a geared rider from 9, probably stop at the cafe. if any of you trackies fancy a slower warmdown lap after then i may still be rollin by the time you have finished your 2 short laps with no hills.

They've all got BMI issues.

Are you saying there is more to RP than laps around the carpark,I wondered where everyone was off to?

there are 4 places to buy food and coffee in the park, it's not hard to find somewhere to ride to

but anything over 3km between stops is a bit much for a Saturday...

9:30 see you there folks. i behaved and not too pissed. result.
I assure you Clive that was some kind of optical illusion, halfway up I thought I had rediscovered my legs , by the top I realised I had not, hence the remainder of my ride was the correct description of easy and involved the picturesque middle part of RP. I too am looking forward to the lack of hills at Calshot , more concerned though about maintaining a speed that will not involve me sliding down the track. I am expecting to be lapped multiple times by our speed demon colleagues.
