How are you getting on with the disc brake?

Disc brake is good, stopping power much improved over normal, especially with the current weather - bit of a bugger to set up, works well with cross top lever, but was shit with a dirty harry i also got powdercoated - i would go hydraulic, but as the bars are a constant 25.4 across i have so far been unable to find a lever with that clamp diameter, once i do i will swap over

what gear is that, 50/19?

It's singlespeed (for now) so just has some cheap flat MKS pedals that'll do for the time being, and is running 48/18. The chainring looks monster-sized because the frame is only 52cm.

That frame, if it's 631 like mine... with those wheels... should float over London's potholes. They so smooth.

so far for the bike I'm building for my girlfriend, brooks B67 honey saddle, Fast Boy Cycles mudguard (front and rear), 105 threaded headset (only a tenner), short stem, chain, and brooks honey leather bar tapes;

still getting more bits, as of tomorrow I'm picking up the frame that now have track end welded by SuperTed and send it off straight to Armourtex to get it respray in a pastel green with glitter (cheaper, look better and nicer than metallic).

a quick clean should make it nice and white again (the white balance made it look reddish in the photo).

Status of my space-age commuting-bike project..

That gold KMC-chain makes a lot of noise it seems... the noise transfers into the disc.. don't think I'll need a bell to make people in front of me know that I'm there.

(Yes, I know that basement is full of ugly 70's shit... it's my moms - the disc-wheel is 80's shit and that's mine)

That bike have enough stickers on it already... oh.. and the front wheel will be a Corima QuadSpoke.. Ghibli doesn't really match ;)
