i personally think february is a good time to go cause harry isn't sure how long he'll be there... and to me, berlin is a winter city, though i'm sure it is lovely in the summer.

Fair point, i am a spring/summer person not a winter one. @ kattt did you check with Air Berlin? If you were to book now you would probably get a good deal on flights.

ryanair flights are as low as 43 quid roundtrip...(including tax and all that) which is dirt cheap. + 20 or so to check the bike. so i guess we figure out who's definitely going?

No, not from New York. Got it form Ebay the night before I left. I'll be looking into getting a pair of wheels for the cheap and either putting them on the new one or the langster and lending it to my girlfriend since she doesn't have a bike at the moment.

Max, What frame is it?

It is supposedly a vintage track Ron Cooper though I'm not entirely sure that this is correct. It does have a very light tubing and the lugs are nice and all that. It doesn't have any C's or anything on it.
According to the seller they were bought in by an older guy for his cycling club many years ago, he's the one saying it is a Ron Cooper. I know the seller did sell other Coopers at the same time with the Branding an all that.
Either way I'm looking forward to building it.

Haha. The ride was good. Fiddy came along as well. Nice route, few drinks after with a spot of rugby.

re: berlin ... well if we fly on ryanair we can all just book our tickets ourselves as long as we agree on a flight, cause they don't assign you seats anyway. you just go, get in line, and board in that order - so we show up together and we're fine.

if we're all down for the weekend of feb 20-22, the flights look like this...

we have the option of leaving at either 06:25 (09:10 arrival), or 18:45 (21:30 arrival) on thursday (the 19th) or friday (the 20th).

coming back, the flights are at 09:35 (10:25 arrival), or 21:55 (22:40 arrival) on sunday (the 22nd) or monday (the 23rd).

and these are between stansted & schonefeld. luckily, schonefeld isn't far from the center of berlin at all - though we can't say the same for darling stansted.

my vote goes for thursday evening and monday morning flights, this would mean ducking out of work a couple hours early on thursday and missing friday and monday, or maybe going into work for a couple hours on monday afternoon. my schedule is really flexible, so talk amongst yourselves :)
