Glad Saturday was a good night. I ended up in a state where riding back would not have been a good idea.

Thursday to Monday is good for me. We need to speek to Heath first though and make sure he is good with the dates. I know someone else in Berlin but I dont think he would be too happy about a buch of riders crashing on his floor.

Max, although you will be up north when this trip is on you can still come and check out your future town.

Nahhh, ive thrown all my cash into a cliché trip to Amsterdam for February half term.

Anyone at Norths have either pedals with straps and that or a front brake caliper to spare for the cheap? Can't get one of my pedals of the Langster and the brake calipers screw thingie is to short for the holes in the new forks. I'm at the moment without a bike since they're at work and I've got no time to fix them up today before i go home. Damn it.

Just ride single pedal and brakeless Max and HTFU ;-) I have got quite a few front brake bits at work but am off ill at the moment :-( I guess you need it asap?

ihave some pedals with straps the one of the cages is brok, there crappy plastic cages, but you can have 'em for free?

Actually I sorted the pedal out before I left. This very strong latino man came in and helped me. Seriously. So rode brakeless home. Yikes.
Still might need the caliper though. Gonna try some stuff out later.
Also, might be a silly question. How do I get a quill stem loose? Do I just need a big wrench to undo that big wrench needing thing? Or is there some other secret? Just undoing the allen key top isnt enough. obivously.

undo allen bolt and tap it down a bit to release the wedge / expander

You are going to have to undo the large nut on the headset, the stem maybe siezed and need a good hard wiggle to get it out. Usually happens with ali stem and steel fork steerer tube.

I took everyone up Swains last week but want to have fresh legs for Rollapalza tomorrow so the route will be up eather Haverstock Hill or Fitxjohns Ave. Both nicer than swains. Then a nice ride round the top of the heath.
