did you forget i dont drink.
I thought you meant that you don't drink in London by what you said. If you're going to off yourself you may as well try a fine wine. If you don't like it it's not like you'll have to drink it again. You wont even get a hangover.

On going forum jokes, don't take them personally.
I don't mind them at all, in fact I think they look quite mad in a good way, but the honest fact is they are not great wheels, like I say above, slow, heavy, expensive and flexible.
Look nice, the white is super popular, a fixed gear icon all by itself.
Sensible questions only.
HEd forever!!!

yeh i know they dont actually explode, but i mean, you cant exactly just take a spoke key and re-true them can you.
i meant, can they buckle, if so how can you fix them? or do they just crack or something
-

they blow up at random times, killing everything within a 6.7 mile radius
-
• #31
You can paint them white, I am told, if you really want to. (I changed my decals from yellow to red without a problem)

They don't buckle, and it is rare to see an Arrospok break (there is that one image of a snapped Aspok floating around the internet, but it had a truck reverse over it) in this respect they are very strong, good for doing tricks where you land heavily on your front wheel.
They kinda' start life buckled, they don't run true from day one (this is true of other cheaply made carbon wheels too) - in fact the manufacturer warns you that you need to open up your front break so that the pads give the wheels a little more room to wiggle around as it turns.

Bit of advice...
don't OD on pain killers!! :p
paracetamol: 36 of them will kill you..in about 3 days... so bad idea in case you change your mind and there is nothing you can do because liver failure has set in....
Aspirin: As far as I know... i doesn't kill you but give you really bad stomach ulcer.. you will be foaming in the mouth... -

The very opposite of an Arrospok !
Langster - look bad - ride nice.
Arrospok - look nice - ride bad.The Langster is a pretty good bike with a poor image, the Arrospok is a pretty poor wheel with a good image.

They're 3.5mm too wide for an Argon 18 Track version. I know I just checked.

Arrospok - look nice - ride bad.
.
surely not, they look awful. i mean really awful. years ago i went out with a girl who had a £100 catalogue bike which was yellow and had blue plastic 5 spoke wheels. sparrowpokes just remind me of that. just cheap and cheap looking. add that to the fact that they are flexible and i just dont understand why people who actually love to ride bikes can claim to like them. gross. like puke. i think its like buying brand new worn out jeans to look cool but just failing. buying shitty non practical wheels to look cool, and just making your bike look cheap. like upvc windows and doors that de value your property. london roads are shit from my experience and wobbly wheels and compromised front brakes from widening your brake cos of the wiggle sounds pretty dumb to me. amazing bit of marketing though, cos somehow they manage to get away with making ugly cheap looking wobbly heavy ass wheels that people bum and spend loads on. clever. but owning them is not clever. think i wont be slitting my wrists tonight im too tired to have to clean the mess up after.

'spoks are (were?) a neat way to personalise your ride. They feel like a rolling cliche to a lot of people but whatever.
I'm just interested in What's Next?

It is, of course, subjective.
I wouldn't buy an Arrospok or a Deep V for the weight alone, but I can kind of see why people think they look nice, all those cool videos of LAs finest wheeling down steps and skidding up hills (ok maybe not that) with crazy spinning white five fingered wheels is all the marketing anyone could ever wish for.

Yep, they are the fixed gear cliché.
I'm just interested in What's Next?
Quinspokes > Quadspokes > Trispokes > Bispokes > Monospokes.
We are at the Trispoke stage right now, I can't see Bispokes being too hard to make with the right composite (?).
Dude, I know you're not the first, and you won't be the last, but when you say you've had a search around the forum, how deep and involved was that search, there are many threads on here about aerospokes, arrospoks, and you seem to have conveniently missed reading any of them. If you had read them, you'd know the feelings both good and bad that the arrospok engenders.
There are also plenty of threads about bike shops, good bad, indifferent as well as online stores that people use.
We'll help you, if you help us, do some of the leg work and ask a question which isn't open ended, and which we can answer if you've been on fixed gear gallery, or velospace, people who post up their bikes will tell you what parts are on them, it ain't that hard. From there you can find distributors, prices, pros and con's and make a decision about whether you want them enough.
Signing up, asking oft asked questions and then getting your nose put out of joint when you get sarcastic answers isn't the best way to start a relationship. If you have been searching this forum you'll have noticed that its not a place for the faint of heart or those with thin skins. We're all lovely people when you get to know us, but starting out with an inane question about a piece of kit that divides opinion isn't generally the best way to start out.
I could find the aforementioned threads for you, but where would be the fun in that.
