  • I like the colour of the frame

  • I think it looks like an ok bike, not too keen open the colours but other than that it seems ok. I like mucking about doing tricks on my fixed wheel but to do most half decent trick you are going to need to be able to barspin which means a specific bike, with either forks like that or 650c fount wheel.

Personally I don't think I will have a bike setup just for tricks unless I end up with load of spare parts and can do it for cheap, I would rather build a new BMX or dirt jump MBT if I was spending the money.

  • For an off the peg bike the plug's all good. Yeah it is heavy but for a cruiser or commuter it does the job. I brought one as a novice to fixed riding and it's serving it's purpose. Would I be a a repeat offender....no probably not just down to getting more knowledge and the insight to rebuilding another bike. Colourway on this option is wack and that saddle shits me to tears!
I can't see this colourway being on the roads to much so all you haters needn't worry about the fixed community being inundated with neon freaks.

The bull horns on the current instore model (deep blue colourway) is also a bizarre component for what is a basic street bike.

  • velocity boy You know, if it's £400 and comes with a brake... there's the root of a fixed/single speed bike hire company to be had there. London is screaming out for the ability to hire a decent bike when you need one at a decent rate. To cover £400 is pretty easy, the cost to rent a shitty hybrid in London is "Per hour £3.00, 1st day £18.00, Next days £9.00(days 2 & 3) £6.00(days 4 & 5), 1st week £48.00, 2nd week £10.00", a few Plugs in stock and a flat daily rate of £14-ish per day and you'd be set pretty quick, and this forum would provide a lot of business because you'd catch the market of people who are into fixed/ss around the world travelling to London and wanting a bike.

London needs that thing they have in Germany, where the bike has a remote controlled lock on it -you phone up, pays your money, and the lock unlocks and you ride away..

  • Isn't Ken thinking about copying the Velib scheme from Paris? Not that we seem to have a sensible plan for encouraging cycling in London. But Andyf and I might be on the case to assist that... (and yes Andy, I'll get those 30 words to you by the end of the day!).

  • tomasito burn him

burn me? what? catch me first!

  • Forum Turnaround much?

Charge are really only producing bike's like this because there seems to be a demand for them. It's the same as Special and Bianchi really and i know the Langster gets a bit of stick but it doesn't stop people buying them.

Not everyone can or want's to build their own bike. You lot made this popular!

  • if i had 400 quids i'd choose this over the others in that bracket. it's a solid ride, i wouldn't have a problem riding it to death, a good day-to-day bike, with good looks, in my opinion.

  • le car I like how everyone has been building bikes that look pretty much like this one for months (I could have counted about 5-6 looking similar to this one on sunday at polo - including mine yes), and now it's disgusting when a brand produces a bike that matches the general taste...

I guess it's good that a frameset allows barspins without having to use a 650 wheel. For those who can barspin (I can't).

    Amen. Nothing wrong with it.

Although I prefer it in green with the white zaffiro tyres myself ;]

I think this is a great idea - when I went over to NYC last year I would have loved to be able to hire a half decent SS/Fix. I ended up taking my own bike which was great, but a certain amount of hassle. Let's face it, none of us on here would be exactly thrilled about riding around London on the kind of bikes you can actually hire here.

An obvious way to start this is for boutique (ish) bike shops to start up the scheme. Any interest from BLB / Cavendish / Mosquito etc?

lol. I should get off here. I've got stuff I need to be doing.

  • I bought an 'off the peg' a couple of years ago. It's lovely, I ride most days on it. ''Rides like a boat'' is how Nhatt described it once. She had a point.

SHIT loads better than the bus though.

I think this colourful charge is probably a seller, but probably not that much. I think the crowd will all be buying dutch bikes this year, if they've got any sense.

  • I like the blue one..... Radial spoked wheel is cool though!

  • both wheels have nice spoke patterns. what's the rear called?

Velorution have finally made an impact then!

I thought it was all shoppers with arrospok this year, or is that a bit 2007?

  • i got some anodized silver ones recently, really nice matched up to silver phils :)

  • jonaent (Jon) I like the blue one..... Radial spoked wheel is cool though!

  • scott not scot i'm rather keen on those grey deep v's on the orangey one....:)

jonaent (Jon) I like the blue one..... Radial spoked wheel is cool though!

Just so you don't get the wrong idea, those four colours above are a quick potatoshop™ job, I just thought there was a better colour way that the purple/green one (?)
